Kilmarnock's Danny Armstrong Eyes Scotland Euro Call-Up: "I Bring Something Different"
As the Euro 2024 squads are set to be announced, Kilmarnock's winger Danny Armstrong finds himself in contention, hopeful of a call-up to represent Scotland. With an impressive season under his belt at Rugby Park, Armstrong believes he can offer a unique dimension to Steve Clarke's squad.
The 26-year-old has been in scintillating form, contributing nine goals and 14 assists to Kilmarnock's 2024 season as they aim to secure European football. Armstrong's performances haven't gone unnoticed, sparking interest from international circles, particularly from the Republic of Ireland.
Reflecting on his potential inclusion, Armstrong expressed his eagerness to represent Scotland once again. "I played when I was younger for Scotland, I've not been involved since," he reveales. "It's a very, very talented squad, they've got some big players. I feel like I would bring something different to that squad if I was involved. I don't feel there's many like me out there that can offer something I can offer."
While acknowledging his eligibility for the Irish national team, Armstrong remains focused on his aspiration to don the Scotland jersey. "It's a massive ambition of mine," he emphasized. "It's a 26-man squad [set to be ratified for the Euros], you never know what's going to happen. I'll just keep working away at club level and if it happens, it happens."
With uncertainties surrounding the availability of right-backs Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson, Armstrong's versatility and dynamism could make him a compelling option for Clarke as he finalizes his squad for the Euros.
As the anticipation builds ahead of the squad announcement, the question lingers: Could Kilmarnock's Danny Armstrong secure a spot in Steve Clarke's 26-man squad for the Euros? Only time will tell, but Armstrong remains hopeful and driven to seize the opportunity if it arises.

Talented young Scots winger good luck to the boy and the Killie stadium looks amazing. He could be a decent signing for Celtic maybe a replacement for Forrest. Clarke doesnt really play traditonal wingers with Scotland but we have a lot of injuries now so maybe a winger like Armstrong could be a useful weapon if we go to a 433 system.
