I hope Ridgid comes out with a slim single drawer box for scews and small items. Three drawers is heavy once it's loaded up...
For anyone else wondering, Ridgid now offers 2 drawer and 4 drawer variants so you don't have do do it yourself. Hopefully if this video/idea gets popular enough, they'll also start to offer a 1 drawer variant.

Great idea, but I returned the drawers. I've had the Rigid System for years and it's been very durable, but when I added the drawers, it was too heavy, at least for me. I've been looking for a system that's portable, and you can work out of it after you stack them. Unstacking them in a smaller apartment or doing repairs, etc , gets messy and extra work. Amazingly, I tried the Husky Connect 22 and found them great and portable. The roller unit first, then drawer unit placed in the middle, and the canteliver unit on top make most of your tools easy access while stacked. Just remove the trays from the bottom of the canteliver unit. The drills fit perfectly, and I put a rubber type liner on the bottom so they don't slide around in my truck. You can fit 2 drills , battery charger, and an extra battery easily. 👍
PS, they easily stack and unstack when your going up flights of stairs.
Cheaper, but better design for portability and working while stacked.
Yeah, that’s why there are so many manufacturers making these modular storage systems. Every body has different needs. Depends on work flow. Thx for the comment!
@recyclespinning9839 I too like and use the Husky Connect system for a home and auto portable tool box. They are nicely sized and configurable like you said. I do not use them as my professional trades box storage system however. The 2 main reasons I do not use them as my professional trades system is because they are not big enough for big cordless tool storage and they are not highly weather resistant like most of the other proffesional boxes out there. I use the Dewalt Toughsystem for my trades use but am thinking about upgrading to the Toughbuilt system when it's dolly comes to market. But the Husky Connect system is great for certian applications for sure, and I really like mine for portable home auto use where I'm storing more compact tools and im not worried about weather conditions or hard use durability.

Very nice! I couldn't figure out how to remove the pin that allows you to remove the drawer slide, so I just kept my drawers in their original configuration.
There’s no pin to remove. Watch my other video on how to just pull the slide out.

Yeah, that’s what the other modular systems have done. Stacktech has a deep drawer planned for release this summer.
Am looking to get into the ridgid becauese of the 3 drawer placements on thr bottom but toughtbuild looks nice, which do you think its overalls dollar worth

Packout is currently the most versatile. Stacktech will be with the release of the rest of their products this summer. Ridgid is the best value and the best quality made boxes, BUT… (here it comes) they are not going to have all the bells, whistles and accessories the other two have. I’ve got over 20 ridgid gen 1 and a dozen gen 2 boxes and the five drawers. Packout drawers sag, the metal rails in the corners are great for accessories, but do nothing for vertical strength. Right now, I’m using Stacktech as my daily driver. The small one drawer boxes, and the accessories that fit the corners of any of their boxes are awesome. They’re not perfect and they’re heavy. I’m using them daily, so we’ll see how they do after a few months of use. Thanks for the comments, hope that helps???
This is inssne to have to mod something so much that costs so much money. I think I'd rather deal with doing what I have to in order to just store in one of their top opening boxes. Even if it required stacking the whole thing on a flat/long folding dolly or another set of wheels.
‘Til you on a jobsite with 100 other people and you’re trying to get tools, put them up, change bits, get anchors, and yourco-worker needs the tool on the bottom of the stack, not worrying that some is going to walk off with a tool you left open or sitting out because it goes in the box on the bottom of the stack… everybody’s needs are different. That’s why there are so many brands of tools and storage systems. That situation, I just described, was the tipping point for me, for changing to a drawer system.

When you put heavier stuff in does the drawer scrape the bottom of the box?
No, the Ridgid drawers have the most support across the bottom. My heavier tools have not made them sag at all.
How did u switch the dwars to make the 4 dware? When I did mine it was a pain. I had the top off the metal plate out and the metal pins off. All that to get the dwar slides out of the box. Do u have a easer way?
Oh no! The slides pop out… watch my other video. Easy peasy… you can grab that tab with some pliers and give it a jerk.(toward the middle and toward the front.). Was difficult the first time. But now it’s easy, note that i know the motion.

Where did you buy the one into drawer box I only can find the 3
They only make the 3 drawer box, but i realized the slides are evenly spaced, and ridgid designed the box to hold 4 slides. Watch my other videos and shorts on how to take 2 3 drawer boxes and make a 2 drawer and 4 drawer. And that can be reversed. The 1 drawer is the only configuration that requires destroying a drawer that can’t be reversed.

@@MakeWithMike yes! Just depends on your workflow and how you need the drawers configured. It takes multiple boxes, but i was buying them anyway.

It’s the best folding table. Comes with integrated clamps. Has the lower shelf to keep power tools off your work. Made by keter. Same company that manufactures packout and ridgid boxes. They’re two versions. This one has extendable legs. A little more to setup, but being 6’4”, my back likes the extra height.
$120 for a tool box with sliding draws seems excessive.
Not compared to the other modular systems. Yes, metal boxes are more affordable, but to be able to take apart and put in the van… priceless… depends on your workflow. Time is money
