    A very well thought through setup! Rolling the whole drawer stack into a job site must make things a breeze. Trying to get on that level myself!

      Thx for the comment. If you watch my older video I had a Ridgid system that we used. While on a job site, we were switching boxes back and forth, and another team had the Packout drawers and their workflow was so much better than ours. We switched over to packout drawers and started adding accessories to the rails. Then the Ridgid drawers came out and then stacktech… so we’ve been trying all of them. None of the systems are perfect, but we’ve like the workflow with the stacktech the best.

      @@donniestoolthoughts9209 Very interesting, I previously had the original Ridgid and liked them except for the clasp mechanism being on the sides. Now using a company provided Craftsman Tradestack and its not bad for the money since the drawers came out. In your experience, how has the Stacktech surpassed the Packout for you? Alternatively I'd be very interested in a video practically comparing the two! Keep up the good work!

    Whew. Did this work for over 28 years. Made tons of $$ . One key to that business is being organized as time is money Clients notice the organization and how efficient you are. Well done sir. Plus 1 on the partition, its a must.

      Not really. I enjoyed the trade. I took pride in my work and wanted my work to stand out. I told myself I was going to " Get off the ladder" when I turn 50 as I didn't want to waste my body all to this line of work. I was offered a full time gig with one of my clients to become a project manager and decided it was a good fit. I really enjoy my new job, but still have all my tools, van, and contacts. I've seen guys in the trade at 60+, nothing wrong with it, I just didn't want my body all broken down from being on my knees and on a ladder. Took a pay cut but the time I have back is just as valuable if not more valuable than money.

      Almost heavy duty enough. They’re the 60” slides rates at 500lbs. But the weight was causing them to drag. The support wheels helped take a lot of the weight off the slides. Thx for commenting!

    I love how you set up your van, i recently jumped over to the stacktech and I have the 2 and 1 dolly and even a stacktech shelf which i do not recommend due to design limitations (the way they have everything stacked on the pictures cant be done in real life) i have been looking for ideas, but not a lot of people have stacktech yet. Great build!

    Please, please put a partition wall in there. Those cleats are not rated for a rear impact, if you get into an accident everything in the rear is going to be where the driver was sitting.

    That is a Nice van setup! Having the slide out base so you can grab every box from the back of your van is So smart. Did you make those hold down cleats for the boxes on your slide yourself or does Toughbuilt make them?

      This summer toughbuilt is releasing a mounting plate… but, i needed to secure them now! People are 3d printing cleats and selling them on etsy. I have a 3d printer and someone posted the file on the site printables. I printed them myself. Thx for the comment.

      99% of our jobs we are able to roll in… really like the handicap regulations. Makes it easier on us. The 1% of jobs with stairs or broken elevators, we go minimalist and use the tool tote and we keep some bags folded flat in the van. We’ll be getting the Stacktech backpacks when they become available.

    What are those cleats you use to mount to the slide platform? I started using Stacktech a few weeks ago, and those cleats are pretty slick.

    • @donniestoolthoughts9209
      @donniestoolthoughts9209  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I 3d printed them from a file posted on printables.com. Christopher Medeiros designed them. You can find them already printed on Etsy if you don’t have access to 3d printer. The spacing is the only problem. Get them too close and it pinches the bottom drawer, causing it to not close all the way. Get them too far apart and the back locks won’t stay locked…

    • @donniestoolthoughts9209
      @donniestoolthoughts9209  Před 3 měsíci +1

      No, I’ve got them in my other van. I have over 20 of the gen 1 boxes and most of my tools stored in the warehouse are in ridgid boxes. You can’t beat the value to storage ratio of the ridgid boxes. I just finished cutting the bottom out of the 2 drawer setup to make 1 giant drawer. Video coming soon.

    How did you mount that cliptech clip to your veto bag? I have an atlas 46 bag that I want to put a clip tech on

    • @donniestoolthoughts9209
      @donniestoolthoughts9209  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes, i had the clip tech pouch but it wasn’t doing the job. I cut the rivets and drilled holes in the veto. I didn’t cut the Vito. I went through both pieces of the belt loop that way if I decide to take it off the Vito just has a couple extra holes in it. They’re two styles of the clip Tech if you use the one like I have that you reach underneath and lift up make sure to leave yourself half an inch above the belt For your fingers

    What made you change from Rigid to Stack Tech ?
    I have Rigid boxes ,AEG in Australia and can't decide to buy AEG drawers or go to Stack Tech

    • @donniestoolthoughts9209
      @donniestoolthoughts9209  Před měsícem

      one drawer box. It is so handy and speeds up our installs / service calls to be able to grab the tools we need and throw them in the stack. Easy access without having to move boxes back and forth. The drop and lock stacking feature is also nice. For the money, you can’t beat the ridgid /AEG boxes for amount of space to money ratio. I still have a warehouse full of ridgid boxes with tools in them. Toughbuilt looks like they’re in financial trouble… may not be around much longer. If they go away, I’ll come up with a custom ridigid one drawer box.
