    Great videos, going to do a swap soon once we find the right project and your videos show all the parts and suggestions that keep cost in check for the budget, but yet keep people from buying junk that make the swap harder.

    Tryin to find a clean body from 1960 to 1985 and want to swap an LS. Ppl tell me it’s easy and it’s cheap but when I was doing research when I got outta high school in 2019 I found it to be expensive. I was a JDM dude by default cause of this cause I wanted something cheap an easy but now you’re giving me hope cause I don’t like Hondas like I like classics.

    I want to do a 1981 el Camino is it a big difference between the Camaro with the line up on the engine and transmission? Also where would I get a drive line to fit first build

    Made in USA by chinese employees? Even though the U.S. has stricter regulations, no one really regulates them anymore unless they could profit from it. Unfortunately the ID tags on harnesses fade quickly, at least that one has bigger fonts. Do you have any recommendations on low cost stainless headers? Just noticed I have an exhaust leak. I could use the OEM trans crossmember out of Camaro/Nova so I raise my exausts.Thank you for posting this info.

    Hi, great video! Thanks for the help! I'm doing my 1st 69 Camaro. Appreciate the part #s. Do you know if the speed engineering headers will work with a factory air box? The only other LS swap I've done was on a 68 C-10. I used vintage air on it, but I didn't like the fan motor noise.Thanks again!

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  Před 8 měsíci

      They should work. Air box shouldn't effect the headers

      Thanks, just worried about the clearance on the passengers rear. I know the factory big blocks had a different box because they were wider than a SB. Do they clear the steering box OK?@@krustyclassicsgarage

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  Před 8 měsíci

      @stevehowell4425 yes but I believe the big block heads were taller so I'd assume the LS heads being shorter may make up for the difference? And yes, they clear the gear box. If you watch my other videos of the swap you'll see all of it.

    Hey Krusty I live in Temple and I am currently looking for a gen 3 5.3 or 6.0 LS that I need for a swap . Is there a junk yard in our area that you would recommend ? Or do you have or know of 1 for sale ?

      I got mine from Troy's auto salvage in Troy. Pricey and you only get a long block but they come with a 3 month warranty

      @@arnw7933 I'd get a legit rear end shop to swap in a set of 3:73s with a locker of some sort or just a basic posi set up. Or maybe 3:55 to keep the rpms slightly lower for a driver. But 3:73 will give you the pep while keeping the rpms somewhat lower.

    • @boogiehound
      @boogiehound Před 6 měsíci

      Use the 8.5" ten bolt housing you have now. Swap out the 28 spline carrier for a 30 spline posi or locker. Aftermarket 30 spine axles and gear ratio of your choice. If you are mostly driving on the street I would go with something in a 3 area. 3.08 - 3.73.

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes. Just going to cost a good chunk of change as that's an LT engine and the swap parts are more expensive.
