  • I built a LEGO RC PLANE using lego technic pieces. I used legos and foam board to try and make this machine fly. #lego #airplane #flying #legotechnic

Those wings are little more added drag. the aero foil, if you can call it that, is a shaped like a brick which means no curvature over the top of wing which means no accelerated air over the wing to create a low pressure zone on the top of the wing. In other words, that wing is not gonna have any lift, and if you have no lift, your plane is not going to fly

Shape the wings into actual wing profile

Move the center of weight back and add more gears simple fix.

Stella is so talented, is she the reason you get up in the morning? Is she the inspiration behind the builds?

You need an airfoil shape to the wings. Flat and level wings won't generate any lift.

wrong! i have made multiple rc planes with a flat airfoil, although the plane in general needs alot of adjusting to fly

@MrMindaSchmit And I bet none of them were as heavy as a LEGO plane, right? Do you use angle of attack to get that to work?

no, im saying flat wings can generate lift@@Chris-lk3fq

you need to add a pitch

what were the first motors you used.

I reckon if you secured the wing a bit better so it doesn’t make it pitch down and added a normal rc brushless motor the plane would fly fine until the lack of control causes a crash. It definitely needs more thrust. I think you’ll struggle to get much more out of the buggy motors unless you can feed them more power through some custom electronics. You could also probably replace the wings with baseplates like peter’s plane to balance the lego purity of components (just don’t cut them). I think once you get enough thrust it’ll fly fine. Then you can work on getting more control with ailerons, rudders and the like.

Btw I’m studying aerospace engineering and have made 2 Lego plane prototypes so don’t trust anything I say. At your own risk.

You should do this once every year and see how much you can refine it. Great video bro 😎

U need flaps for the wing so it can turn or go up/down

If you don't even have any elevator of rudder control, The plane won't fly. Only a few meters.

Um you can hardly call those wings, there's more to them than just a piece of foam board.
