Thanks for doing this Mike. It was thanks to you that I got into this band. I'm not a fan of all of there albums, but like about half of them. Bloodstone and Diamonds is great to me, so was surprised to see it ranked at the bottom. Catharsis is terrible. I need to get The Blackening and Unto The Locust. Burn My Eyes is awesome.

Machine Head! I saw them in '95 at Alrosa Villa in Columbus, OH. Bought the tape at the show, they destroyed the place and changed everything for me, brought it all to a new heavier level. That album had to be 5 years ahead of its time? That was the first time I'd heard a breakdown isolated in the song like that and SO heavy... I was hooked. UNSCARED! I know that album front to back, my buddy Shawn had a system in his mustang and that tape had more bass than any hiphop he had on hand! TMTC was a solid follow up although I was getting tired of the feedback (no matter how well mastered) use. Hey Mike, I'll back you up on The Burning Red. Not my #1 pick but I liked that album and know every song. The whole metal scene here, especially locally, was a lot of metal and rap or numetal or whatever. Our local band Victim (WHATS UP GAR!!) did it and had fun with it. It only lasted a short minute but it was what it was. Desire to Fire, Blood Sweat Tears...overload of raw energy and a great closer with Burning Red. Good thing we don't pay attention to all the negative critics lol

Great list, Mike. I'm a bit surprised that The Burning Red ranked so high because I read not-so-good reviews of it when it first came out.

Well those are pretty much top of the list. Bloodstone isn’t nearly their worst. That is Supercharger hands down, with a country mile between that and the next worst, which may well be Catharsis

  • @slipknotmfkrlocust8843

    9. B&D

    6. TMTC

The Blackening and Burn My Eyes are the pinnacle for me. Catharsis was such a pile of shite, that I questioned ever listening to this band again. However, the new stuff I'm hearing sounds pretty damn good. The top 5 below are really good, but after that there is a drop off in quality. My list:
    1. The Blackening
    2. Burn My Eyes
    3. Through the Ashes of Empires
    4. Unto the Locust
    5. Bloodstone & Diamonds
    6. The More Things Change
    7. The Burning Red
    8. Supercharger
    9. Catharsis
