- “Extra” Special Correspondent Megan Ryte caught up with Gwendoline Christie and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to talk about the “Game of Thrones” finale.
Gwendoline, who plays Brienne, revealed she “cried for two hours” when the show wrapped, adding that “everyone was deeply emotional.”
Nikolaj, who plays Jamie, explained that it was a long goodbye that lasted months, with a farewell to each cast member on their last day.

In one of these pre season 8 interview clips with Gwen he's asked about his feelings regarding Jaime's ending and he's talking like "yeah......yeah I felt it....it...made......sense" just see that interview the poor guy is struggling to find words. Just search Nikolaj Costar Waldu on Jaime's ending, you'll find a clip like this with him and Gwen just observe his body language it speaks volumes.
If you watch the live script read so many of the cast are visibly so upset 😂
Tbh show Jaime is not book Jaime. Show Jaime is nuts about Cersei. I know it sucks because Brienne got her heart broken. But I felt saving Cersei and the unborn baby made sense for show Jaime. The love scene with Brienne was really forced because D&D did not explore them dealing with expressing their feelings properly. It was a very corny scene considering the pure love Jaime and Brienne had for each other.
"I never cared for the people" was what confused me...Jaime was truly affected that he admitted he killed Aerys to save the rest before he fainted in the tub.
After watching this season now I understand why Gwendoline cried for 2 hours.

This interview only makes me respect Nikolaj even more. He’s a constant, politics and the people around him may change but he’s true to himself and regardless of how people treat him for it he remains as happy and genuine as can be.
