- Tension continues to prevail in India’s north-eastern state of Manipur since communal violence first erupted in the state almost two months ago. Violent clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities have claimed more than 100 lives, and more than 390 people have been injured. Why has violence continued unabated?

In Manipur, there are 33 tribes, all Xtians and Meities who are 85% Hindus. (There are Xtians and Muslims among them). A fight between one of the tribes (Kuki) and Meitie is given propoganda that Xtianity is targetted. Why other 32 tribes which include Nagas (all Xtians) do not have any issue in the fight. What is happening in Manipur is not a religious fight, it is between two clans, just between two clans. This is not the first time it is happening, it happened between Nags and Kukis earlier. Now PM's visit to this place will only backfire. He is silent because he feels pain at the things happenings. PM has gven special attention to develepoment of Manipur in his Look East, Act East project. Ask any Manipurian, he will say things improved a lot in last few years. As a north Indian, I can say that nowhere and nobody know how many innocent Meitei ladies' rape were and murdered before that accident happened and also, people brutally killed and many of them were displaced. Clearly, you are not from Manipur and here is facts from the ground reports.
This is the population of Manipur - 53% Meitei, 24% Nagas, 16% Kukis.
The peace rally on 3rd May of 2023 was carried out by ATSUM (All Tribal Student Union of Manipur) - which is both Naga and Kuki.
Now let me tell you why there is only a clash between Meitei Vs Kuki.
The situation that erupted on May 3rd after peace march was due to the burning of the Anglo-Kuki War 1917-19 which Kukis hold it highly and a memories of the many who had sacrificed their life in fights with the British and their tyranny.
Know for a fact that if the tribal are united, the Meitei has no chance of winning the war (mainly due to advantage in strategical locations).
So, they devise a plan of attacking only the Kuki. Hence the Kuki War Centenary Gate which they feels holds no importance to Manipur Naga (ask any manipur nagas).
And like MLA Paolenlal also said in his interview with Karan Thapar.
Why the Nagas didn’t participate is also a political thing.

The narratives always goes like both side suffered should be analysed carefully. Out of 120 dead 25 is meiteis. Out of 100 villages burnt 5 belongs to meiteis. When the meitei attacked constantly, the kuki side simply attacked them so that they would at least refrain from burning all the kuki villages. Imagine this happen to your community, u wid never be happy about hearing d narrative that both sides suffer. This significantly narrow d intensity of the kukis suffer. Think about it

The solution is to make a 3 km wide area along (on both sides) of NH2 as govt land so that NH is never obstructed. Meities can be given ST status with Valley area protection but Hill districts to be presrved for remaining 32 tribes - no separate administration; single state. Those who do not like can get out of the state and settle in some other state or country.

Few years back kukis demanded to govt that here in karbi anglong, assam,india that they should renamed singhasan hills to kuki hills since they have few hundreds population here, majority of them coming from Manipur. Government even conducted operation against KRA kuki militants resinding here from Manipur. Same is here at dima hasao district in assam too, they migrated here in 19 century n now they say they are original local people. Its not religious like the media or people from mainland is trying to make it seem as they look at everything from the religious or political party pov. This creates hatered and divide among people. The situation in Manipur occurred due to 2 ethnic group, one where the meiteis demand ST status like that of hill living kuki, naga ir other people. And 2 because these hill living people say that the meiteis already have their SC, OBC and EWS status so Giving ST status to the meiteis will have them lose their lands and rights.

These news stations & BBC is part of the reason why, showing one side, weren’t Metei attacked first when they were provided with their tribal status back, they’re native but reduced to 43% and can own only 8%, the land should be allowed to the govt or national parks for a unique wetland landscape, it’s currently the site of the largest drug, IIIegaIs, exotic animal parts trade.
This is not a religious war as kukis portrayed in the social media and other international platforms as one could come to imphal and see for yourself that many other churches are still intact and unharmed and people are still going to churches for morning prayers and Sunday offerings

Stop the conflicts immediately. Send in the army. Declare an emergency. Impose a curfew. Bring the leaders of all parties involved to agree to peaceful end of the conflicts. I know it's not easy but it can be done. The central government must demonstrate strong leadership.
Why there is so many paramilitary forces and military forces in Manipur when there is Soo aggreement with kuki. They are comming to help the kuki militants or what and why they are coming when there is firing between kuki terrorist and militant and police . And why they block road when police is coming to rescue.

Kuki Love War:
1. Kuki conflict in TRIPURA 1860-1861 Kuki tribe MYANMAR demand separate state administered by the Kuki people in India and Myanmar from 1988 till now.
2. Kuki-Chin conflict and clashes BANGLADESH from 1970 till now.
3. Kuki-Naga ethenic clash of 1990-1992
4. Kuki -Paite ethnic clash of 1997-1998
5. Now in Manipur with Kuki and Meitei demanding seperate administration.
What kuki people really want. It may be noted that most of Kuki are illegal immigrants from Myanmar, who engaged in poppy plantation, drugs, illegal arms, which pushes the North East to Ocean of Drugs.
That guy Athouba stated there is no Temple in the hills but go check in Lamka there is the biggest Temple owned by Mainlander real Hindus standing tall.
The rift is huge the clansmenship culture is deep and inherent every clan wants to be a dominant power in its home ground .
Here the qn is : a person who does business has grown from rag to riches and the other who is still in rags feels jealous, burns his house and steal everything , is it good or bad? That's the same with Manipur the meiteis rose by their sheer passion for work ,while kukis maintained old customs and outdated system of living thus they forgot to strive for the better and now this is the overall result.
U gotta work with meiteis and kukis both then after comparing u will get to know the difference.
Hills and valleys of Manipur must come under one single law , it is a liberal India yet we r following rules estd in pre colonial one.
Aren’t the Meitei - the community having the most outdated customs in Manipur. It is a known fact that Meitei has lots of customs, cultures and even outdated belief).
I agree for the fact that Meiteis are ahead when it comes to business and are hardworking.
But given the fact that, most of the fund allocation from the Central to hills are reallocated to projects in the valley. MLA Alfred was the first to bring this thing to light (I suggest you look in this as well).
Within the past few 3 years, entrepreneurship and start-ups are also taking seeds in the Kukis community and many youth are starting to look towards this, until the 3rd May incident.

Is it fair that, out of the 60 seats in Manipur, only 20 seats are for the tribals (both nagas and kukis). Says 10 kukis, 10 nagas.
This is for fact, only fair to the Majority Community - Meitei, who can take the advantage of being a Majoritarian to grab tribal lands.
@@Lumpu_Lifts so over all u r suggesting that the whole issue is meiteis being the majority in the political ground right ,but it is just b'coz their population is 53% while kukis r maximum only 16% and nagas only 24% ,
Also man meiteis culture still doesn't prohibits them from assimilating with others while nagas and Kuki maintains a bias also meiteis have maintained a status of being the most educated class in Manipur for now so obviously they will get govt positions and power
@@pikachue602 Of course the root of the current issue is the meitei being the majority in politics and dominating Manipur governance. After which is what cause the events, the meitei clearly dominating devise many schemes and plans towards tribals lands.
Reserve Forest, ILP and so, on are clearly a target towards a particular community. Then, narratives like poppy planters, illegal immigrants and so on was built up to supports and justify their policies and plans.
And I feel you are confused with government post and power with politics. (Politics comes with elections and Government post “bureaucracy” comes with your personal dedication and skills). Those are two very different thing.
And clearly, I don’t think you know about the high ranking government officials in Manipur. Most are from Kuki Community. For example, before the advent of the clash, who was the highest ranking government officials in the police department (DGP) - it was P. kipgen. And look below him, the post of DCP - they are mostly all Kukis. Nonetheless, they could not save themselves and their family either from the meitei mob.
So, I don’t understand for a fact when you said, meitei dominates in government post and power.
And talking about marriage, there is no sorts of restrictions from the Kukis (I don’t know about Nagas) regarding marriage with the valley counterparts.
Intermarriage do happens (but not to a large extend, which I believes is due to the many customs and cultures that meitei has, like taking bath every morning to cook lunch, letting the husband eats the food first and then her, and so on… And another big reason can be a differences in religion).

This same kind of cultural and political discrimination was clearly witnessed in some other states like Andhra Pradesh which latergot divided into APand Telengana , Bihar got divide into Bihar and Jharkhand (soon it will again break into BIhar -Mithila since the political turmoil is in peak there), Maharastra got divided into Maharashtra-Gujarat , MP got divided in to MP and Chhattisgarh.
In future WBengal will be divided into WB and Siliguri , Maharashtra and Vidarbha....
So it's time u guys also need to set some solutions otherwise the Violence will get even more horrendous and China and Myanmar will take the bait and soon they will start interfering like making alliances with local political leadership and it is the common man who will suffer in a vicious cycle ..

The sad thing is that… even though it is a communal clash at the grass root, but at the centre and international - it is a religious issue. And with the present BJP ruling party at the centre.
It seems like, even though evidence and facts are submitted/voiced to the government. It seems like the Centre Government is turning a deaf ear to Manipur issue.
This divide is deep and long, clearly - the only solution is separation and be a good neighbour. Otherwise, adversaries like China and Pakistan will take advantage of this. And internal conflicts is not good for India 🇮🇳 her peoples.

Indian Hindus are not even know who is who. Who is meiteies and kukies. and why they are fighting. And why Indian hindus will fill happy when somebodies church is burned. That shows hatred towards hindus and Indians. Do this person won't consider himself Indian is he Chinese or what. When churches are burned same time temples are also burned. Since couple of months I'm watching the conflict in Manipur from both parties, through media! But i have never seen a meitie victim seriously . I only saw churches burnt down no temples, I see girls being raped from kuki tribe and not meitei.
