  • Each year we see new products hit the sled market. Heated gloves hit the market a couple years ago, but are they worth the cost? We've been using them for a couple years and review a few of the most popular brands in this video. They are a great addition to the mountain sledders riding gear.

    Good review!
For that liner would it work under riggers gloves?
I’ve been searching for something to keep my hands warm while I’m outside working

I have not used, or even seen in person, the heated liners that Feildsheer makes. You can only guess from the pics on their website how they might fit into another glove.

There's one very, very critical issue with heated gloves that use electric heating elements. I've personally seen them massively screw up an avalanche beacon during a search. The electric field they emit is pretty significant, and it had a searcher during an exercise literally walking around in circles. As soon as he removed his gloves, all his issues disappeared. This was validated by several users using several different beacons. As rabid as Mike Duffy is about your iPhone messing things up, imagine an antenna wrapped around both hands. The sledder in me loves the idea, but the Avy certification in me says no way. Performing a burial rescue without gloves is just as foolhardy as wearing gloves that lead you away from the victim, so you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
