    I own heated gloves by FLY...EXCELLENT PRODUCT.!!!!! Looks exactly the same...only difference is batteries are on top of gloves at the wrist...and you DO NOT know they are on top ...been using for two winters now...bought a spare set of batteries...I get 5 hours on low to med heat...I absolutely love these heated gloves...I will never be without these gloves for snowmobiling...I paid $150.00 for glove set...extra batteries I paid approximately $48.00. ..prices 2 years ago...still worth the money ..I’m a female..ladies buy some...I don’t get a kickback

    Very nice gloves but a bit pricey the snowdeer on amazom use the same batteries and are a good glove for half the cost. Maybe not as high quality but a little more budget friendly. great review

    My girlfriend and I have a set of 12V heated liners that we run while winter driving our RZR and they are amazing! They can run of the battery packs which, like the FXR gloves, are in the cuff. Or they can be plugged into a harness that plugs into the RZR. High is almost never used but we generally run them on med. We both get extremely cold hands and these have made going out at below zero fun again :)

      I wish. I've been bugging FXR about that for years. Drive me nuts plugging a face shield into the sled or getting on a sled that doesn't have a plug and I gotta ride around with a foggy shield.

      @@snowtrax I just ended up making a USB to rca power cord and use a usb power pack that i attached to either my helmet or keep in a inside pocket to power the shield when i dont want to be attached to a sled or bike. I couldnt find anyone who made a system.

    My girlfriend and I where out riding yesterday. Her hands easily get cold and she loves the gloves. When we stopped for a break her starter switch froze and the machine wouldn’t start. Checked all the fuses etc but ended up having to tow her back to the truck. These gloves showed there true value. In this scenario, with no heated grips these gloves saved her. It reminded me of last year when my buddies sled ( Yamaha Viper) main clutch bushing seized and needed a tow. His hands froze. So not only for day to day use but more importantly as a great survival tool these gloves can save you when mishaps arise. Thanks for the review Luke.

    I don't recall my Fathers 1976 Yamaha Exciter having heated handle bars .. but every Snowmobile since then that I have owned had heated grips and even heated thumb control .. OK you made them sound good and practical ... Now just gotta find the price .. My Priority this Winter May be FRX bibs and Jacket that float ..

    • @snowtrax
      @snowtrax  Před 6 lety +3

      The heaters run along the top of the hand right out to the finger tips (obviously your palm and inside of the thumb are heated by the hot grip and thumb warmer). The combination makes for really comfortable riding on super cold days.

    How do the batteries perform in -30 and colder.Especially from the wind from riding fast.

    • @snowtrax
      @snowtrax  Před 6 lety +1

      Rode in minus thirty celsius this week and the they kept my hands toasty warm. On high heat you may only get a few hours out of the charge, so suggest bringing along the charge cord and plugging them in if you stop for lunch. Otherwise, low heat will give you up to 5 hours.

    • @pavmentsurfer13
      @pavmentsurfer13 Před 6 lety +3

      Or just pick up a 2nd set of batteries for $15 from FXR. Totally worth it. Id like to see FXR make an adapter for charging a spare set of batteries from the electrical outlet on your sled. that would be sweet.

    • @PartTimeYooper
      @PartTimeYooper Před 6 lety

      It's also a shortcoming on FXR's part to sell a glove that will only stay warm for less than half of a days worth of riding on a low setting.
      Also at some point, aren't we just going to be plugging our jackets/gloves/helmets/phones/insta-pots all into our machines at once so we can have everything charging and staying warm right from the sleds electrical system?

    • @pavmentsurfer13
      @pavmentsurfer13 Před 6 lety +1

      Not a shortcoming at all. Its simple technology. At the moment a battery pack thats a reasonable size to wear on your arm can only provide heat for this amount of time. You could add a bigger battery, but it would be too big and bulky. FXR did the right thing... and a smart thing, by using Lithium batteries. At the moment, the lights, longest lasting and still affordable choice. As ive said a few times, for $15, you can buy a 2nd set of batteries and ride all day. But you wont likely need them on all the time.

    This is just incredible... If you are afraid of freezing you aren't in the right sport... I drove a snowmobile with no handwarmers for about 6 years ! I got so use to it that with my 2009 RMK I even forget to turn the handwarmers on !

    • @pavmentsurfer13
      @pavmentsurfer13 Před 6 lety +5

      Really... thats your answer. If you get cold, stop snowmobiling. Not a great way to aid the future of the sport. You are obviously one of those people who doesnt suffer from cold hands at all. Mark is the same way. He can ride at ridiculous temperatures with no hot grips. I cant... and I ride alot and I dont intend to stop riding. What I have always done and continue to do, is find solutions to problems instead of giving up completely. These gloves are a great solution for me, and many others.

    • @doobyboy21
      @doobyboy21 Před 6 lety +2

      It's an awesome sport Luke and I know you guys are probably making a living out of Snowtrax and pushing these companies for a profit... But let's face it, where is the fun when you have to be plugging yourself from head to toe to enjoy the sport ? There will always be an alternative if you are an easy freezing person. You can *sometimes* ride the same trails in the summer time with quads or Side By Sides. Snowmobiling is already expensive enough. We don't get to be sponsored a snowmobile for riding like you guys Luke.

    • @marknewman8609
      @marknewman8609 Před 6 lety

      Let's face it... Where is the fun when you hands are frozen? Some people have crappy blood circulation. There are days when I take my wife up the mountain to show her what we do and I double her. She sits in the front and hangs onto the grab bar. There is obviously not heat in the grab bar. When she gets cold it's a shitty day for her and me! If they make these small enough I can see myself buying them for her.

    • @pilotlangdon
      @pilotlangdon Před 6 lety

      I used to ride all day every day with a cheap jacket, jeans and sneakers. As I became N adult and my body changed, I began to get cold like never before! I would never give up sledding, biking, boating, or flying until I am dead! I will use what tech I can find and afford or I will innovate a way to get out there! If this tech gives me 2 more hours of comfort then that’s 2 more hours before I head back to thaw out and hit it again!

  • @nighttracker1472
    @nighttracker1472 Před 6 lety

    What is the point of them dont all sleds have handwarmers in the grips??

    • @pavmentsurfer13
      @pavmentsurfer13 Před 6 lety +1

      Yes... all new ones do. But sometimes they arent adequate. There are many people who suffer from excessively cold hands, even when temps arent that low and handwarmers are on hi. My wife is a prime example. The point is that there is now a solution to this problem that works. Not everyone has this same problem. But for those who do, the sport just got more comfortable.

    • @pilotlangdon
      @pilotlangdon Před 6 lety

      Heated grips only heat the part of the hand in contact with the grips. It’s the backs of the hands and fingers that cause you to get cold. That’s where these gloves pick up the slack

  • @PartTimeYooper

    I was not impressed at these gloves at all. They lack in the biggest area on why people get cold hands in fancy gloves....excess moisture from sweat. These things didn't seem like they breathed that much at all and were soaked after my first ride with them. It was -5 F out, so it was plenty cold.
    And like other gloves, these needed to dry out before they would be warm again. Since they have wires in them and aren't recommended for the dryer, well that's out, and I wasn't keen on putting my new $225 gloves on the wood stove either.
    So I'm back to carrying 3 pairs of $75 gloves and change them out as they get wet/damp from my hands sweating. Good pair of heated grips sadly is still the best solution for keeping your hands warm. Plus I still feel they have some, ahem, design flaws in them that need to be worked out.

    • @pavmentsurfer13
      @pavmentsurfer13 Před 6 lety +3

      If you have hands that sweat so much your solution to that problem is to carry 3 pairs of gloves I cant imagine there is an adequate single glove solution for you anyway. Obviously no company can design a glove that is PERFECT for every person on the planet. There are always people with special or extreme circumstances that simply cant be accounted for. I dry my gloves on a boot/glove dryer... works great. I have wet hands as well... I sweat alot. Without carrying multiple gloves ive always struggled to keep my hands warm all day. For me, these have been the answer.
