A critic said once aboout this film:" A look inside David Lynch's lonely and fearful soul." It is so true. It has to be his most autobiographical film, it is really beautiful and a surreal masterpiece.

David Lynch is a genius.... All of his films are so ambiguous... we have to watch it several times to know the exact meaning... There's a difference between fear and fright, fright is a reaction, fear is a feeling, a feeling can last hours and even days and this is the feeling that caused me to see this movie the first time: fear for hours, I know it's not the movie's intention, clearly the movie is intended to disturb, and it does, but for some reason fear prevailed for me. What movie! It's my third favorite movie in the world, just behind Cidade de Deus (City of God) and O auto da compadecida (A Dog's will), both masterpieces of Brazilian cinema.

  • @luthfeeghazale6206

Note: this was lynch's first film, and it was produced with the assistance of the AFI. Despite that, It spent like 6-7 years in filming because of funding difficulties, but luckily donations such as from Jack Fisk and wife Sissy Spacek (the actress who played Carrie in 1976 Carrie) and even the main actor's wife who worked as a waitress donated some of their income to keep production afloat. Eraserhead's production group was small composed of Lynch; sound designer Alan Splet; cinematographer Frederick Elmes; production manager and prop technician Doreen Small and technician Coulson, who worked in a variety of roles. Luckily enough, Eraserhead was able to become what's called a "midnight movie" and made a minor success, and the rest is history with madman David Lynch
