Read the book, my grandma owned it, I was 16. took me another 20 years to find and buy the DVD, But I found it, to me it was wonderful to see how people adapt to their circumstances. This movie is my lifesaver, I have physical problems, but nothing as to which these people have, and I watch it regularly, to remind me that, although I have problems, there are many people who have more problems than I do

This film is a Masterpiece. A great tragedy.

fun fact is that this film was originally 1 hour 30 minutes long - MGM’s executive at that time edited the original cut of the film without the director knowing, the 1h30m version was significantly cut, with additional alternate footage incorporated to help increase the running time. the final abridged cut of the film, released in February 1932, runs for 64 minutes; the original version sadly no longer exists, the film was shown in full at San Diego, without the following cuts from January 28 and had at least had a successful run (whilst the film initially flopped financially and was shunned by most critics, who panned it at that time), that theatre advertised the fact that it was the only place where the movie could be seen in the original version that was “uncensored”

Such a great movie and by FAR the stars in this film were NOT Freaks. They have feelings and love and feel pain just like anyone and to exploit them and showcase them was cruel. The Movie did portray their plight though in a positive way, which is why the movie was great.

I just watched my burned to DVD Eraserhead. The audio was just industrial noise. No dialog. I've since watched some clips on the internet (the song that the radiator girl sings, the crying baby, dialog at the dinner) none of that is there. Just wondering if my copy is messed up or a different version? Very surreal.

Is that right! David Lynch directed this movie-L.A. Confidential -I assume this man is suffering from a brain defect or he's trying to make points in getting an incentive and never mind his bad acting. He hooks up with an alien woman who haves many epi cycles or whatever you want to call it, then it turns to hillbillie heaven.

Making a good trailer for eraser head is an impossible task

This movie is closest one might get to experience the waking nightmare in the first person. There's no real plot or dialogue, it's just surreal and bizarre. No movie in cinema history will ever be able to portray fears and sufferings of an industrial collapse and the alienation of a human being in such society. That's what makes it trully terrifying.

It's sad that the director, Tod Browning, got blacked-balled from major studios after making this movie, but it's also heartwarming that decades later, this is considered his Magnum Opus, not dracula, but FREAKS
