Hi pal. It's interesting to see another pro do a task like this. I do it slightly different but end up with the same results. Fantastic little oil on the saw tip 👍👍👍
@@JamesMontana Thanks for the reply. I'm doing 14 bays down one side of my garden 6ft feathered edge, concrete board, concrete posts... sure i will need the odd tip hahaha.
If you have a circular saw, set the guide rail to a few mm then just rip down the edge with the batton in place. Just remember to treat the cut with wood preservative.
Hi great video. When trimming down a panel, Instead of sawing down a straight line, can I use a pry bar to take as many feather edge off as I need then slide the last one along to desired width the re-nail to the frame and finally re-fit the timber rail on end to complete the frame? If that makes sense
All good till nails are in the way. Then you need to take the slat off where it needs to be cut. Build the frame then re-slat. But i do it this way too 👍
Hi Joji, I would definitely use either an impact driver, or drill for this job. I am using a makita impact driver which i highly recommend, if youre lookin to buy one. Of course you can use a simple phillips hand screwdriver but it would take you some time. Hope this hepls and thankyou for watching. James
If you want to see how to cut an overlap panel, I have a video here - czcams.com/video/ijHLT_tuPtU/video.html

Happy to answer any questions you have mate. Good luck with it 👍
Absolute boss video.
Nice one chap 👍
Thankyou kind sir 🙏
Nice video, what's the best option when we're just talking a few mm ? lift the last feather, sand down the batons and nail back down?

what would you do if you had concrete gravel boards? can they be cut to size too?
Yes you can cut the concrete boards no problem. You will need a disk cutter of some sort though.
Hi can I cut a fence panel horizontally?? It's to top my block wall up higher

Thanks. Yeah you can do but its a bit more of a ball ache to remove the feathers without breaking them.

Yeah it is a bummer when you hit a nail. Ive gone through so many saw blades.
Which screwdriver is best for this job? Which one did you use?
