- Reporting from the Chiang Mai province in Thailand, Chris Kilham introduces a little-known but promising adoptegenic herb, known locally as jiaogulan. Its leaves, consumed as a tea, provide saponins similar to those in ginseng. In this video, he visits a plantation where the herb is grown, and provides an inside look at its cultivation.

I would like to see more information about cultivating and processing adaptogens.
This needs a million views honestly
Still taking it? Any results?
@@WalkingMoments I use 98% jiaogulan extract, there's such a supplement on amazon with 200mg capsules. I use it for dopamine and theres studies saying it regenerates dopamine neurons. It seems to work extremely good for this. It's impressive - if it was native to europe or america then it would definitely be more popular in these areas
@@WalkingMoments - have been taking about 5 years. More energy, a happy feeling, rarely get a cold. If I run out can definitely tell a difference in energy level.

I live in a tropical country, it makes 40 degrees Celsius in the afternoons, and I ask for guidance how many times a week I must water the Jiaogulan, I appreciate the help. I do not leave sun straight on it and it planted in a very airy place without the sultriness of the heat, but I have difficulties in finding the right amount of water.
In China, it's part of the range of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tastes wonderful as well. With regards to health benefits, it generally healthy, but depends on personal conditions as well.
Does this plant turns leaves red in autumn, as i have them so much and they are so invasive, that i have to tier them down from my fruit trees and bushes every year, as i didn't know that they have some health benefits. But they look very beatiful in autumn as a fence.
