Last month I had to replace the alternator, water pump and radiator on my 2000 Tahoe. While the front of the engine was open, I went ahead and replaced the plugs and wires as well.
All of those parts were still cheaper then one monthly payment on a new truck!

Just find another cheap Subaru for your daily.
I like the Tahoe videos because they can CrossRef to my 99 Silverado too.
Speaking of which, meaning something that can shut your vehicle down fast, I had an incident that turned out to be a really easy fix but put the truck in limp home mode and shut the 4X4 system down completely. I wanted to share the story with everyone just in case it happens to someone else too because it was a bit of digging and research to figure it out.
I had started it a little over a week ago on a cold morning, we had just gotten our first snowy North Dakota morning, and I set the auto 4x4 switch to 4L. The little clicks you hear when the mechanism is changing the transfer case clicked like normal, but suddenly all the 4x4 lights on the buttons went out. The truck was in 2 wheel low, and transmission was in limp home.
I did some online research, and had figured it was the 4x4 engagement motor on the front side of the transfer case that went out. It's not a very difficult job to fix, you just need to remove the front driveshaft because it's in the way and it's easier if the truck is lifted for easier access to all the parts, and it's a fairly quick replacement. Plus, the motor isn't very expensive, I even found one on Walmart.com for a little over $100.00.
I contacted a couple of friends about how difficult it would be and the one friend said it's pretty easy, but I should look for a blown fuse first just to eliminate that possibility. Well, the only 4x4 fuse in the fuse box inside the cab was good. Incidentally if someone doesn't know where it is, it's on the drivers side of the dash, under a little pop-off cover, very easy to access. So I went back to researching the engagement motor a little more.
I actually came across a chevy 4x4 forum where this exact scenario was being discussed. One guy said he had subscribed to an online forum for 1 year, only to have the first suggestion be to check another fuse under the hood in the fuse box there. It's called the ATC fuse (Automatic Transfer Case). It is identified as to which fuse it is on the diagram in the fuse box cover, but there is no wheres where it's explained what it is. Evidently when this happens, that's the fuse that blows. He said he replaced that fuse and the truck went back to normal operation.
I opened that cover, found it on the diagram and pulled it out and sure enough, it was blown. It's a 20 amp white mini fuse. I replaced it and my 4x4 went right back to normal operation too.
It ended up being a God sent blessing, because I needed the truck a few days later to drive to Bismarck because I managed to come down with Covid-19 and had to admit myself into the hospital for treatment and it got me all the way there.
So, if anyone has this incident happen, check the little fuse marked ATC under the hood in the fuse box there. If it's blown, that's your culprit.
    Love the Tahoe videos.

I was just not willing to pay for the conversion kit for the wiring luckily the ones I bought of the eBay came with like the plugs with like 8 inches of wire still so I had some relays and bought some ecu pins and did it myself and if I wanted to clean it up a little I can put some loom on it but it's fine for me I would suggest getting relays sockets that you pin yourself because the ones with short wires kinda suck and don't look as good

My water pump just started squeaking and it has 280k and original water pump. The 6.0 is damn near bulletproof in my opinion, i have only had a few transmissions.

Based on my experience GMC was the brand I should have bought instead of the Chevy, they seemed to have gotten the higher quality parts.
I know they are the same company but they source their parts differently. Specifically their Heads for this generation.

As long as you keep up with regular coolant changes every 5 years with dexcool it will prolonged the life of the water pump greatly because the coolant have additives that lubricate the water pump seals, eventually the lubricating additives wear out after years of use and if the coolant is never changed it will destroy your water pump seals then it starts leaking.
