I do like how Q3 evolved though, embracing the strafe/circlejump :-)
And the freak that is the Source Engine and now KZ in CS:GO which has some amazing skilled players. Even pros partake in it a little for obvious reasons

Back in 1998 I had a bugged copy of Quake 2 and the shootable switches did not work. I had to invent grenade jumping to progress in the game.

Nice run! I don't want to know how many hundreds of hours of my youth were spent deathmatching in this game. Back in the days of dial-up modems and the lag was terrible. We did all the same strafe-jumping and rocket jump strats. I dont think we ever thought about speedrunning the solo game though.
