This speedrun was recorded live at Summer Games Done Quick 2019, a weeklong charity speedrun marathon raising money for Doctors Without Borders. Summer Games Done Quick 2019 is just one of the many charity marathons put on by Games Done Quick. For more information on SGDQ2019, find us at: gamesdonequick...

This whole event was named after the "Quake done Quick" videos - I can't believe no one mentioned that.
cyandyedcyanide The 100% run is one of my favorite runs ever.
How can quake not be the most popular game of this event ?
You already know why. Forgotten game by the masses, not advertising or beginner friendly among other things.
The original Done Quick! Love this
Really great run -- that was very enjoyable!
The original Q2Q videos were my first encounter with speedrunning, so seeing this run "live" was really cool. Awesome work!
YES QUAKE FINALLY HOLY CRAP
Nine Inch Nails did the Soundtrack, not the game sounds. They are an industrial metal band. I also always known it as Grenade Jumping, like Rocket Jumping. I played Quake at launch for about 4-5 years. Primarily QWTF QuakeWorld Team Fortress. I Looooooved that game and miss it terribly.
Yeah I was a bit misinformed on that and I probably shouldn't have brought it up as a result, but thanks for the clarification :)
nin did the soundtrack yes, but trent also recorded and selected all of the game's sounds as well as completely voiced ranger
The CD version had the soundtrack on disk in a playable CD-Audio format, as well. It was pretty common practice at the time since audio compress technology wasn't very good and most games didn't take up the full disk anyway. So the game would just play the music tracks off the CD, and you could also pop the CD in a normal player to listen to the soundtrack.
In addition, the actual game files were all installed to the hard drive, so you could swap out the CD after starting the game, and the CD you had in the drive would play instead of the game soundtrack. :)
This was actually common for a lot of games in the early data-CD era.
My fav game of all time!
Thank U GDQ!!!
brilliant choice for a run
Nine inch Nails did the soundtrack, not the sound effects. The ammo boxes for the nail gun have the NIN logo on the side of them as a reference.
i know its an old comment but trent also did the sfx
Nice game, thanks for the run.
That moved a lot faster than I thought it would.
Way before I started watching speedruns I saw the rabbit run video for quake. mind blowing.
Very cool to watch!!! I really liked this one
Weird HUD Sprites, but other than that, amazing run!
Probably using some sort of source port
Is this the joequake source port or remastered?
