Carrier Reefer X2 2500 Start/Stop Locked Solution (How to Run Continuous)

To all the people on all the videos in all the forums that have discussed this exact issue in the past but gave zero solutions… I thank you for quite literally nothing. Your input was worthless
The only thing of value was the screeching of “aLL yOu hAvE tO dO iS pUt iT iN fUeL HoG!” but then the eh neglected to tell you how to do so.
I figured it out and made a video for anyone else that’s looking for a solution to this issue and you don’t want to go wait hours at a shop for them to spend 30 seconds pressing buttons just to charge you a 2 hour “labor” minimum.

It’s worth it to mention that changing the settings to almost anything else will allow this to work. It doesn’t have to be “Fuel Hog”, that setting just gives me the least hassle.

How do you do that with a 2500a unit? In intelect mode it changes the temp when u do that

I know I’m late answering this. I don’t have the 2500a model but it can’t be too different from this one. If you haven’t found a way to change it yet try holding down both arrows for 5-10 seconds until you see the menu display blink and see if you can change the mode from there.

If you don’t have the Fuel Hog option your company (or the company that owned the trailer previously) may have programmed it out as an option. If you haven’t tried it, just try selecting any other mode on the list and doing the switch from there. Most meat or frozen modes will allow you to make the switch between start/stop & continuous from what I’ve seen.

It sounds like turning intelliset off would be the best option especially if you’re not running a specific/dedicated lane and your freight changes frequently.
