Hello everybody!
And here we go again. Touhou 19 demo is out so I will try to transcribe the new songs that ZUN has composed.
This time ZUN delights us with a somewhat peculiar Menu theme, to be honest I didn't expect a theme of this style.
The powerful, emotional and somewhat melancholic feel completely caught my attention and became one of my favorite menu tracks. Honestly ZUN did a great job composing this, I love it.
The transcription was quite exhausting. I struggled quite a bit to transcribe specific notes in some arpeggios that are hard to hear, that made me take a long time....
That aside, I quite enjoyed transcribing the rest of the track as well as the instrumentation. The "refreshing" style that ZUN has been employing since previous releases is also appreciated here, although with much more notoriety and originality.
The following transcript will be the topic of the first stages!

One of the times I came to CZcams to listen to this theme, I saw this video and came to listen. After that I didn't need to listen to the original theme, because this MIDI is identical, and you were fast. These arpeggios seem so complex. I loved how this theme and Reimu's sounded.
This theme has feelings of journey, futurism, pessimism (just a little), aggressiveness, sweetness and melancholy, respectively what one feels in the title themes of games 15, 16, 16.5, 17, 18 and 18.5, wow! And the sense of the beast's intelligence that the melody at 1:16 ~ 1:41 conveys is so strong (the melody conveys intelligence and the instrument reminds me of WBaWC).

Reimu's, I can't wait to start transcribing it. It will take me a while to do it since I have problems with my computer.
For my part, I feel that the theme contains more of the essence of TH15 and TH18. That part at 1:16, as you mention, I partly feel that the melody is a bit familiar with WBaWC.
My favorite part is 1:41. I don't know what happened to ZUN, but the implementation of the violin (which he hasn't used for a long time) seems to me totally right and makes the theme shine in that part. Every time I listen to it, I'm amazed and it makes me happy

The part you mentioned is really splendidly done. I also noticed the absence of violins in ZUN's music for a long time. When Touhou 18 was released and I realized ZUN's investment in refreshing instruments I felt it was a good time for him to go back to using violins. I'm glad that feeling was right.

Cuando hay ganas, se pueden hacer maravillas. En cada salida de un Touhou intento transcribir siquiera un tema en menos de 24 horas.
También tengo ganas de escuchar remix que hace la gente, dentro de poco ya habrá alguno que otro

Me encanto el tema, de primera impresión fue el tema que más me gusto de la demo además de que es bueno ver que ZUN le meta tanto esmero a los temas de menú de los últimos Touhou como para que suenen tan únicos .
Por otra parte que velocidad!! La desvelada valió la pena

Sin duda ZUN hace lo posible por sorprendernos con aquellos temas de menú. Si así suenan los temas originales de la demo, no me imagino con el resto de temas faltantes.
