Thanks for a pretty decent review. You've helped me make my decision that I need to step up to a higher end system. I currently have Yamaha, Sony and Denon sound systems. I'm remodeling and this is the home that I plan on living out the rest of my life in, so I'm going to look a little higher. As per your review, it sounds like a great entry level system for those that are just getting started.
I liked that special effect when he mentioned the sub and great video.
*The Surround Satellite should be placed on the sides of the audience, not behind! I have a throwback Philips 5.1 FR 968 system I bought back in 2001*

I can't seem to go to the set up menu on the YPAO screen, it only performs automatically. how can I set up the rear speakers because I am not getting noise and I they pass during initial testing? thanks

How would you compare this system to Pioneer 5.1 Home Theater System HTP-074? Been considering both for use in medium size room for gaming and some movies. It seems to me like a major difference is powered subwoofer with Yamaha. Thoughts?

I saw that you put your center speaker on large. The default setting is small. But voices are brassy and too bright. There is no bass to them. Would changing it large like you did help?
So I have the receiver turning on when I select the power button on my Dish Network remote and get sound through my TV speaker. How do I then toggle between tv speaker and surround sound?
I know I'm late to the game here, but do you know if this system supports bluetooth headphones? I have two pairs of them, and neither can be used for my tv alone. I have a soundbar right now that I hate and want to toss into the wind because it has no projection of sound past 10 feet. I'm looking into this one now, but I want to make sure it can connect to my bluetooth headphones. They're regular, over-the-ear wireless headphones that I am able to connect to my crappy soundbar (the only thing it does right). Thanks. Really enjoyed this vid.

The first is if I want to get sound from my TV and not the receiver, does the receiver have to be on? And the second is, while this system says that it has 4k passthrough, does that work like any other HDMI input? Will I basically just select the 4K input and get surround sound and video?

Right, so you want to use regular tv with the speakers. Yes it would have to be switched on sadly as it is the source of power for the speakers.
It will work with any HDMI being 4k or not. Does not matter.
For the third question just mess around in the settings of the system

My feelings, Yamaha's the BEST working man's AV for the money.
The AV unit you display will really shine with better speakers.

Someone is selling one of these locally for $500 including all surround speakers. Is is worth getting? I have never really gotten into surround sound. Recently my LG hi fi system of almost 15 years blew up so yeah xD still had the old ipod touch docking station

How the subwoofer is holding up with you? I have the same exact system and I feel like the subwoofer is too muddy! It doesn't have that rich and very deep sound to it. Suggestions?

How loud does this get? I'm pretty new to Home Theater Systems and my main concern is the loudness/power output. It seems as if those 1000W sound bars are much louder than this...is that the case or do I need to go do more speaker homework?
