I love the FACT that Fantasia has risen and blossomed into the beautiful person that we are seeing and hearing from today. I went to see the movie on Christmas day and I could hear the black women around me being moved and releasing their pain. I was sobbing lol and I left feeling so inspired. Fantasia deserves an Oscar! 💜

That last scene was so powerful in so many ways from the forgiveness to families reunited and even how in her forgiveness for him that it was not restoration of the romantic relationship. Ugh! I’m not crying! I got emotional right along with her, as she spoke. I thought about my own grandmother and started crying too. When she said “No matter what a man says, use it. This is your testimony”, it resonated so deeply with me. Mister’s invitation to the reunion at the end of the movie seemed questionable initially, but it is a visual and physical manifestation and depiction of what forgiveness looks like. 💯

I love Fantasia and I've met her and she is so lovely and strong. I know what she means by having to tap into her grandmother. My ex passed 2 years ago a retired Marine. He was the love of my life even though we weren't together anymore we had a deep love for each other. He was also a musician and I'm a singer. So, I am currently learning a song to pay tribute to him. I will ALWAYS find a way to pay tribute to him. Pretty hard to get through the song I keep crying but I'm gonna get through it and record that song and post it on his anniversary. His birthday is next month so tough couple of months. Tough life without him but i know he wouldnt want me to stay in the dark. He would want my light to shine bright. BOTH being Marines we are warriors till the very end.I miss him and I'll always love him. ❤

When I first saw that scene that Fantasia spoke of, I was marveled at how Celine could forgive her abuser and be able to sit at the same table with him and laugh and be merry. I turned to my sister and I said ‘how? How does she forgive someone that put her through so much heartache and pain? How can she smile in his pre scenes?’ Celine (and yes I know she is a fictitious character) must have a powerful heart. SHe is the strongest of the strong. She is pure. Forgiveness is HARD. I am 40 and still hold the pain in my heart for what happened to me over 25 years ago. Idk how to forgive. Idk how to let it go. But I felt those powerful words in the song ‘I’m here’ and that, that right there has stuck with me.
Not only does Fantasia’s outer appearance looks stunning, but, her inner spirit speaks volumes. I love you sister and continue to let God use you as He continues to transcend you to be a voice and minister to other so they can find their own power as you did in letting go and letting God use you.
The only way to heal yourself is to forgive, not for them but for yourself, and move own.
