You can tell by the way a person sings, that they’ve been there, and they can feel each and every word…….this is why Fantasia’s perfect for this part!

I really enjoyed this movie, and appreciated that they were able to keep the WLW elements in this version, unlike in the original film.
I just wish they had kept the context of this song from the stage show. However, the focus on Celie and Nettie’s relationship made up for that.

They should have came out with a new concept. With these same artists. Then it would of been a box office hit then. . People are not interested in movies they done seen.
A flop is when a movie makes less than 30% of its budget back at the box office. This movie made nearly 70% of its budget back from the box office. After box office sales come digital sales, rentals, streaming, tv licensing, etc. Trust me, studios know how to make their money back in several different ways. Warner Bros pictures will be making money off this movie for the next 30+ years. That’s why they are in the movie making business meanwhile you are not.
