I have a 2 gal Decks & More pump sprayer and after about a year of use, it would no longer spray even under pressure. I sent the company an email through a contact form on their site and they sent out a replacement hose and handle without ever responding to me. I honestly thought they were just ignoring me or didn't get my message but I got it a couple weeks later. It works okay but I wouldn't recommend it or ever buy another. I recently bought a 1 gal from Southern States (not sure the brand but it was $10) and here we are a couple months later and water comes out through the top and sits in the funnel when under pressure because part of the pump broke that you tighten on top. That's why I'm here today, to find a better replacement. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!!

Thanks it looks like you're full of great information. For example I find it very useful to know that orange oil is good for awful resistant bugs in the garden and Japanese wood burning is something I never heard of but I think more people should know about it. Sounds like a great and eco-friendly way of avoiding plastic siding

Back in 1988 I had bought a pressure wash franchise a year into it I fell into an opportunity where I needed a good heavy duty HVLP pump sprayer, "spray doctor" was by far the best. I could spray CWF all day long, clean it every time when finished and it lasted for years. Nothing has ever been better, not even close for the money, back then 18 $20 per unit. It was just built great. I'm thinking I must have pushed thousands of gallons of material through those Garden sprayers.

I find that the 2 gal. sprayers you find that are made by Fountainhead Group and branded with either Roundup, Scotts or Ortho are very good quality for the price point ($25-30) and parts are not expensive. The downside is they have no pressure Release Valve. But they are solidly built, take less pumps to pressurize the tank and have good pressure for an inexpensive pump sprayer. However it is not rated for bleach, acids, sealers or any caustic substances.

A back pack sprayer with a diaphgram pump will work well for you because piston pumps like all of these rely on the caustic or acidic solution touching the inside of the pump.
Solo makes a suitable back pack, labeled for "wetable powders " as these are also abrasive.

I have two Chapin and like them but both have stopped holding pressure even though I clean them and lubricate them. The kits to repair any sprayer cost almost as much as a sprayer! Yes, that is the same sprayer. Make sure you clean it out after every use so that whatever chemical you use does not build up inside and gum up the sprayer mechanism. You are on the right track for sure.

i got one of those harbor freight sprayers. it has outlasted the ones i got from tractor supply and walmart. in fact i still use it for spraying neem oil and i have had it for several years.
i came here because i am now in the market for a new sprayer and cannot decide on buying yet again a cheap one for less than 20 bucks of getting the dewalt from home depot for about $35 plus tax.
i was loading up a sprayer with some probiotics for my garden yesterday and the sprayer was almost full and not much room to pump. two pumps gave a lot of pressure and like a dummy i pumped one more time. well it busted the bottom out. i managed to keep most of the liquid in a catch pan and had to grab my sprayer i use for bt and rinsed it out real well. i generally prefer having a sprayer for each use and do not like switching their use from one thing to another so now i need to pick up a replacement.

the rubber o ring seal in the pump is usually the culprit. best to take the pump apart before you put it away for the season and put some petroleum jelly on the o ring and on the rubber part at the bottom of the pump as they do tend to dry out when not used regularly.
if you treat each sprayer with a little maintenance before putting them away for the winter they will last a lot longer.

99% of solutions you mix for use in a sprayer of any kind have a very short life once mixed, so there is no use in mixing more than you need and to keep stored in the sprayer weeks/months. Yes. it is more work to have to mix your solution every time you use a sprayer and then to clean it out after every use, but this is how you do it if you want your solutions to be most effective and if you want your equipment to last as long as possible.
