Penny vs Pip was MAJOR in the mid 90s. Both were incredible players. One PG and one F.
Pippen was an amazing defender
Scottie ran the bulls offense very efficiently, athletic, strong, unselfish. Penny was beyond a beast!!! Unguardable
Penny was as "unguardable" as Barlkey. You don't need to guard those two 'cause the will spoil all the team work with their egocentric desire to show everybody everything they have. This is the main reason Barkley never won a ring. When a guard size PF is dribbling and throwing 3ers, his team is in big trouble. All of his teams.
Same would've happened with Penny, had he stayed longer.
Pippen, on the other hand, was also using his head to run the whole team.

Penny's game was so fluid and so fundamental with the right amount of flare. he wasn't a flashy player but he was still so fun to watch. dude was so smooth. and he was ballin' as soon as he got into the league. certified stud out there right out the gate

always thought the likes of penny, grant hill, and later on kobe, always owned pippen in 1:1 situations. with that said, i think generally a superior offensive talent always beats defensive talent, and it's about minimizing their impact. pippen played great defense against the likes of magic who were "slower", but i never really recall those fast, "modern" nba players ever having crazy hard time against pippen. he was an awesome team defender though.
Magic back then was a great time..... fun time to watch them play.....if hardaway never gotten himself injuries, he would have been stars all way long

I watched this live. From Boston, but had to be the biggest Orlando fan outside that city. This game was nuts! Penny was so good those first 5 years, it was insane. Cried when they lost to Houston. Kenny Smith, Mad Max, Robert Horry, OT , and especially the Dream will always have my respect. Favorite team of all time and the Rockets swept em.😢 damn
That was one of my top three favorite teams of all time

The lack of respect Drexler gets is amazing. Drexler is the reason why they even repeated. Thorpe wasn't even there that year. He was traded for Drexler. Mad Max wasn't there either. He quit because Drexler came.

Kobe little better dribbling and far durable (mostly because he never carry team to waste health vs triple teams) . Same with Duncan or Dirk they had loaded team so unlike Garnett legs they prolong durability.

That stretch by pippen on defense at 8 minutes, took a charge, steal and blocked shot forced jump ball, it's a slap in the face though that he's the inbounder at the end
The play before Kukoc lost the ball Scottie PIppen called a TImeout out of nowhere when kukoc did that same move he lost the ball on but it worked and PIppen called time before he could get the shot off. He was unselfish but also selfish in a few ways. It’s really weird with him.

Kukoc won other games as well (see vs Bucks, Pacers, etc). He was their closer, he could create his own shot better than Pip, was a better shooter, and his height was a problem for smaller wings or guards. Also, he was the top scorer for the Bulls in the game, so up until that point he played well. It was the correct decision to have Kukoc as a closer in this game.
