Scottie Pippen puts his all-around game on display in the 1994 all-star game with 29 points (5-9 on threes), 11 rebounds, and 4 steals. The West big men ganged up on Shaq in the paint all game long but Pippen helps him get a little redemption to end the game. - Sport
That was the season Pippen sealed his position as one of the greatest players in nba history.
FACTS!
Yup, and the last 3 title runs, I would argue he was just as good all-around as Jordan. Jordan was out of his prime at that point, but still impressive.
@@bradleyboyer9979 He was better all around in some ways, but MJ's scoring prowess and ability to finish teams off and take over the end of games put him above Pippen as far as overall impact on the court. Pippen was also starting to exist his prime after the '97 season. He was still good for the half of season he played in '98 but he didn't have the same explosiveness as he did in prior seasons. He, MJ, and Rodman were all old and worn down and yet they still found a way to win it all.
Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, and BJ Armstrong made the all-star team? I think it shows how impactful Scottie was to the bulls during the 94' season.
He certainly ran the offense beautifully, but BJ being in the all star game was a joke. The fans voted him in for some goofy reason, but of course he was still a good player, just not an Allstar. Grant on the other hand truly earned his spot on the all star team that year.
@@williamkoscielniak7871 moron, the fans select starters. Th coaches pick reserves. Scottie made BJ good enough to be an all-star. It's not up for debate
Pippen = most underrated player ever
Underpaid=DEFINITELY
Underrated =NEVER

One of the most overrated players of all-time
Scottie Pippen was one of a kind! The 94' season was a special season! Pip should have won MVP and /or Defensive Player of the Year.
Hakkeem was too dominant that year. Scottie should of been 2nd place instead of 3rd.
LMAO
@@ronaldbarnes1746 LMAO arguably shouldn't have been top 5 in MVP voting in 94
No
@@sideshowbobsaget8876 I would have had Pippen 5th behind Hakeem, Admiral, Shaq and Malone 🤷♂️🤷♂️ it was Pippen’s story that got him that close 1994 (same as Barkley winning MVP 1993 not that he didn’t deserve it but going to a new team best record in the league type of thing) 1994 Pippen had no Mj now but still balled Bulls still winning - the story surrounding their season meant as much as what Pippen actually did on the court. Shit Shaq finished 4th in MVP voting with averages of 29.3, 13.2, 3 blocks and a steal a game on 60% shooting. Should have finished ahead of Pippen.
damn they even played defense in allstar games back then
+Jass Naj Yep All Star Game actually use to be serious.
Cole Brown
Lebron = an unskilled loser
Players weren't making the kind of money they do now. Monterey incentives will do that for you.
+Rambo The Fucking Machine fuck off
It’s all part of the game. NBA today is all about the individual, and setting up the game to make those individuals look good.
when the All Star Game was actually a real game and not a show case! Great times indeed..
scotti pippen i was just about to post the same idea
+scotti pippen Yup, the real and original all star game. Unlike today it's now lame.
No doubt ... no doubt
Nice to see double team in an all star game.
scotti pippen hardly even a showcase. Just a sloppy yawn fest now.
to be honest, the 1992 and 1993 Pippen was the best Pippen. He is still beyond a beast here, but some of the things he did in those 1992 and 1993 years were things i havent seen from any other basketball player, including Jordan. Pippen could dribble around everyone and slam it in the centers face. His defense was insane, he would block shots at WILL, take the ball, go down and slam over everyone. Forget top 50, hes a top 25 all timer.
LMAO. There's nothing Pippen can do that Jordan didn't do better
He was gamachy. They won 57 games in 93 with MJ, 55 in 94 w/o. Scottie led the team in scoring, rebounds, assists, blocks, & steals.
MJ was the G.O.A.T., Kobe was the killer, but Scottie was really something else! GO SCOTTIE! Every single day! Together with MJ, they ruled the NBA World.
What a great generation for basketball, I miss these players.
Только со временем это понимаешь. Я увидел это в СССР по ТВ в 89-90. I love this game! NBA action
Scottie Pippen is my all time favorite player!!! 🏀🏀🏀👊👊👊
James Hill ...me too brother
As a teen I love to see Pippen play
Mine as well, no doubt.
Mines as well...since the day I liked basketball pippen has been my favorite player
James Hill mine too! I had the “beam me up Scottie” poster over my bed lol
Pippen was good player .like that.
This is tougher defense than teams play today in the playoffs.
All day, all day
sad but true
the 1994-95 season made me a huge Pippen fan.
I can watch Pippen vids all day long ... So !Amazing!
These dudes playing defense in every quarter would love to see this again
Yeah Pippen is the most versatile guy on the defensive end, especially in the perimeter.
This was a real ALL STARS GAME !💪🏽
Scottie has one of the most aesthetically pleasing games...those ridiculously long limbs with that athleticism creates a grace that few other players can emulate.
His moves always were step ahead of others. His defense was build on strategy as opposed to guessing like these modern players
D Washington that and guarding mj
In practice
+ he was a smart player who typically looked to create offensive flow before looking for his own shot.
@Kizer Sosei He say'n He had ta guard MJ in practice dats what made His defense so great vs NE body else!!!
Pippen is always underated! He should have gotten MVP that year!
Pippen should have gotten league MVP in 1994...he got robbed!
Hm....Hakeem wasn't good enough for you?
Facts bruh!!! It was his time to shine and they robbed him like phil Jackson did when Mike left and made Toni kukoj the lead man instead of Scottie for taking the last shots!! Scottie earned all the time to take the spotlight but they robbed him and I can understand why he was upset
Stacy Golden, Sr hakeem averaged like four blocks that year and a double double with 27 ppg
@@SwayTheBeast yeah but Pippin missed 10 games that season and the team won 55 games so imagine if he played all 82 games they probably, most likely would have had the best record in the league
You are so right I said the same thing
Players wearing red shoes is nothing today, but that was new in 90s.
No it wasn't. Watch the Blazers in red shoes in the early 80s or the Celtics with green shoes also in the early 80s.
@@bradpote2446 that was a big deal in 94
I really wanted those Red nike snickers
because they only want white and black
Damn Pippen Show The World how You really Feel My Goodness.
That last pass to Shaq and Shaq just slammed it in. That was gold! The pass, the dunk...that's Scottie for you. He could make some great passes, steals, shots, and dunks. That finger roll was epic!
Dunking over Hakeem
Now I see why Michael Jordan has 6 rings...HELL HE HAD SCOTTIE PIPPEN BY HIS SIDE!
no doubt but pippen developed into the allstar he was playing along side MJ
@@jasonhearn5818 Yup. From an 8 ppg mediocre rookie to a legit all-star and HOFer.
Pippen wouldn't have got 6 without MJ & MJ wouldnt have got 6 without Pippen
@Layth Adrian What do you think if Drexler replaced Pippen as Jordan's sidekick in 1990? Would the bulls win? 🤔
@@jasonhearn5818 exactly
Pippen should have won regular season MVP in 94 also
Barry Jowers I agree
Should at least have defensive player of the year
Not Mvp but Dpoy

@Sergio Cantu rockets were deep that year, that mane waznt by himself out there
I remember getting so hyped watching this. Had my Pippen jersey on while watching this.
Isn't it interesting how all the "Stars" used to throw shade on Pippen, seeing him as a sidekick, then MJ retire & who wins the All-Star gm MVP, the fucking sidekick ... well now ... :P.
These were the good days.
Scottie Pippen has been my favorite player since I was 9. I'm now 33 and, (cool Scottie's number) okay I was saying for 24 years he is still, to me the best all around basketball player of all time... In 94 I was fucking furious that he couldn't get the job done with out M.J.... I guess they needed each other.
Jimmy Erwin that's why the Knicks lost the finals... karma
Jimmy Erwin In 1994 the bulls got cheated in the playoffs
@@michaelallen3999 yeah in Msg they got robbed both games
They came ever sooooo close. The 94 Bulls played great TEAM b ball
nope. that hue hollins whistle in the knicks game...
The good old days ! They actually played defense in all star game. They actually competed
+scottie33pippen, my favorite player of all time. Finesse, length, speed, smart, absolute floor general
& DEFENSE ... don't ever forget that, HoF defense!!!
Scottie Pippen Was Amazing!
Pippen was THE man
and still is
Back when this was fun to watch and somewhat competitive.
"beautiful basketball player" ... That was indeed Scottie. Loved to watch the man play. So good at so many different things.
Pippen best overall player to ever play to me and my favorite.he played defense can score at will but likes to facilitate more.
Pippen is why i love the NBA today .
Ditto. He's the reason I watched basketball
Scottie Pippen may be the second best on the Bulls back when Michael Jordan was the World No. 1 but he's a beast of his own.
lol at the BigMac commercial xD
Congrats Pip u deserve it!
Pippen SHOWED In This All-Star Game That He Is One of The Top 'Do It-All' Players To Ever Play In The Game.
Top 10 NBA player
This is.how all star game should be played
My favorite athlete of all-time!!!!
Plus Scottie was a better defender hands down! But they would never give him his due. Ask any player from the 90s era and they'll tell you Scottie was the best defender in the world. But they have mj a defensive player of the year award and not Scottie? Lol David stern and his schemes.
Henry Hill Jordan was the better defender. Even back to his college days and early years before Pippen came to Chicago, Jordan was already putting up staggering defensive stats. Jordan was ferocious on defense with his speed, athleticism, intensity, and anticipation skills; he was all over the place. When Pippen came, he was a solid defender, but improved greatly playing with the best- No. 23. Jordan used to constantly burn Pippen in practice. The only advantage Pippen had over Jordan was his height and wingspan which he could use against bigger players. Jordan had that competitiveness that if you scored on him or blocked him with emphasis, he would get you back ten-fold. Pippen did not have that kind of intensity.
G Ryen agree with you so much on that point, and imagine how much Jordan would have made Pippen improve defensively by constantly going at him in Practice, Jordan always made Pip defend him in Practice and it benefited both of them on both ends of the court. You can see that when Jordan scored on other people he knew he could do it easily because he made sure he had the best defending him in practice.
Scottie might not be top 5 player, but he should be in everyone's best team pick. The do it all and glue guy who doesn't need to score points to make an impact is important for a team dynamic.
Most UNSELFISH Superstar the NBA has produced!
marcus reinus
ur definitely right, even if mj is there he would focus more on defense than offense coz he knows how big mj can do !
I'm a huge MJ fan but I thought Scottie in the 90s was a better defender. Not by much but I really felt that way
Magic johnson
Magic, Stockton , Kidd, Nash ???
9:47, look at where he jumped from. Man Shaq was "a different animal, same beast" back then
Back when the All-Star game means something. Scottie was awesome! Go Bulls!
I love those all star jerseys
those all star jerseys were the business
one of the best allrounders ever!
1994 and 1995 that's when Pippen was at his best.
no Jordan of course
They could've gone to the NBA Finals in 94 if wasn't for that horrible call against the Knicks in the eastern conference finals.
+Nile Lumpkins they probably would of got killed by Houston lol IDK
Maybe
+Nile Lumpkins They never made it to ECF, they lost it in 2nd round. XD Gotta love it when people talk like they saw what happened 20 over years ago with their own eyes...
1985 - 1995 was the best years the NBA has ever seen or will ever see.
2000-2010 was great also
+New and Improved The 2000's were fucking lame.
Chucky Justice Explain
Emo, Bush, High School Musical? The 2000's were a fucking drag.
Chucky Justice WTF is you talking about?
I like watching Scotties jumpshot form - precise
top 3 in mvp voting for whole season. took bulls to eastern conference semis and got robbed by officials in NY. without JORDAN
Scottie Pippen was great player to watch.
Man.... Pippen in his prime was just a vicious destroyer of souls. Could shut down any player then goes back to the other end and either scores or finds a teammate for a score. Just a sick player.
At 7:40..thats just a classic old school move by Pip! It was a plessure, to see him play in his prime. still have his uniform framed in the hall..
lol at david robinson's reaction to shaq dunking on hakeem. what he didn't know was he's next.
It was great to catch this game live.
9:43 My god, I remember that play as if it was yesterday...Scottie did it all: he stole the ball, traded passes with Shaq (at that time, a difficult thing to do) and served a great alley oop assist for Shaq to finally posterize The Dream. I miss this NBA.
They said pippen was a bum 😂 isiah especially . Carried the bulls without Jordan and carried the jail blazers
Pippen 4ever.
Loved the pass to Shaq at the end.
I don't mean to be one of those guys who knocks the game of today, but if you watch how hard the West played Shaq compared to the layup line dunk fest it's become today, I'd take yesteryear ALL DAY! It's ALOT more exciting to see players get dunked on as opposed to letting everyone just go to the rim uncontested.
That's why i don't watch games anymore, it doesn't feel like players are putting real heart into the game, they all just show boating and not even being tested, like every game is a shoot around, very sad to see the NBA get soft like that. Teams have to protect their interests you don't want players getting hurt like D Rose and then cashing in those fat checks without helping the team. Here is an idea, balance the pay between players so there isn't such a lopsided difference between what the best players get paid and role players earn. And let the players play hard.
9:49 even when Magic's retired just from his commentating we could see how great of a passer he was.
Pippen was very talented , thats why Jordan and Him won 6 championships , and we never will to know what would be happen if Jordan and Phil jackson would never had to leave the Bulls in that last 1998 season , maybe they would won another championship for sure
They would be competitive for at least another 3 titles there is no question about it, all those players were in their prime and played more basketball afterwards and they all suffered from being split up, so sad.
Pippen also left the Bulls that year too
No retirement in 94 or 98 and I reckon 8 in 10 yrs.
I grew up outside of Chicago watching the Bulls.
Of course, MJ is my favorite player ever.
However, it is not crazy to say that Pippen was the best player on the last 3 title teams.
He is criminally underrated - one of the top 20 all-around players to ever play.
It is crazy to say that. Michael, even in his aging state, was still the best and most dominant player on the final 3-peat.
If the refs didn't rob the Bulls in game 7 of the 94 East finals they would have had a good chance to win the title even without Mike...Pippen was that good and on of the most under rated players of all time.
In Jordan's absence he actually led the bulls in all major stats per game. 22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game
#Truth!
Anthony Allen 1. It wasn't the EC Finals; it was the Semis. 2. The "robbery" happened in game 5; in game 7, Pippen went 8-22 (36.4% FG) and Charles Oakley ate Horace Grant alive on the boards. Knicks deserved to win. 3. The '94 Bulls wouldn't have made it past the 1st round if the Cavs' Larry Nance and Brad Daugherty weren't out with career-ending injuries. 4. "In Jordan's absence", Pippen sat on the bench like a crybaby in the closing seconds of game 3, while Kukoc (one of Europe's best players ever) hit the game-winning shot. Pippen simply was not the general that MJ was; the MJ-led Bulls were 5-0 vs. the Knicks in the playoffs.
gmn545 lol @ "general". The only reason the Bulls were 5-0 against the Knicks was because both MJ and Pip were there. Take away either one and the Knicks win some of those series. Hell, the year before Pippen was the reason the Bulls got past the Knicks in the '93 ECF. The Bulls were down 0-2 in the series and Jordan built a brickhouse shooting 3-18 in Game 3. If Pippen hadn't picked up the slack the Bulls go down 0-3 in that series and the Bulls could kiss that precious 3peat goodbye. And don't get me started on Game 6 when Jordan couldn't throw it in the ocean and Pippen had to finish the Knicks off in the 4th qtr.
AxeSmashDemolition Yes, a general as in stern leadership. Scottie did play more of a facilitator role, as floor communicator and "point-forward", but in terms of molding that team into championship caliber, that was all MJ. Hell, Scottie wouldn't have progressed much if Jordan didn't sacrifice his position as PG ('89) - getting 10 triple doubles in 11 games and averaging averaged 29.3ppg, 8.9rpg, 10.6 apg, 2.4spg at that position. If you want to talk about the impact both of them had, find me one playoff run where Scottie led Jordan in PER, Win Shares and/or WS per 48 min. I'll wait...
As for '93 vs. NY, it was about time! Pippen had cost MJ and the Bulls in the past because he simply hadn't grown up. Game 7 vs. the Pistons in the '90 EC Finals, and Pippen puts up *2 points in 42 minutes*... Two. On 1-10 shooting. For the '93 playoffs:
Pippen - PER: 16.9, Win Shares: 1.4, WS per 48min: 0.083
Jordan - PER: 30.1, Win Shares: 4.4, WS per 48min: 0.270
...it's obvious who was more significant for the Bulls winning that year. As in, *it's not even close.*
You can tell scottie learned a lot from Jordan playing all those years together
I remember this game being one of the more competitive all-star games. The defense on both sides was intense. Shaq definitely got the worst of it. I felt bad for him during his halftime interview but he didn't seem to take it personally. I think it's a sign of respect that the west would throw most of their defense on him to stop him.
Pippen was such a beast that year!
This all-star weekend was special. 1st rookie game, Mark Price going back to back in the shootout, Rider Eastbay dunk & 1st all-star game in 15 yrs without Mike, Magic or Bird. Classic weekend
Defense being played in an all star game?? Now there's a concept..
1:56 making fun of Pippen's shoes... that guy should see the colors now days!
Pippen is my favorite player of our time
Back when the All Star games where filled up with legends hence why this was the golden era of basketball.
Everybody straight cap right now. They either weren't there or they're lying. Scottie was a star who shined brightly in Jordan's absence; All star MVP while in contention for league MVP. The league was auditioning a new league standout and Scottie was being considered because of his outstanding play, team record and recent 3peat status. Mike was gone but the bulls were still winning. Scottie was a man who both benefitted and sacrificed for haven been Mike's teammate. He was a great player just as many were then but Mike was the league's marquee player. Scottie threatened to expose the legacy or necessity of Mike. Mike came back (at the behest of everyone, including Scottie) but the truth is that the league would've survived because of Scottie and players like him, though there weren't many on his level.
My idol
Scottie waas my favorite player that year. That alley-hoop to Shaq was so disrespectful and nasty
No matter what Scottie does he will always be in Mike's shadow
I don't care if you are fan of this guy or that guy...that scoop finger roll by Scottie was filthy as fuck!
indeed!!.
David looked like a travel to me though
Hell yea lol
shaq will love pippen for the rest of his life, just for that pass! d;1
mhh nah
Scottie Pippen, what a player. Underrated IMO. He could create shots, play defense and bang inside with the big boys. Jordan doesn't win as many titles without Pippen, no way. Especially not those early titles. Plus, Pippen had those awesome AIR shoes that he wore at the Olympics.
It was truly a pleasure to watch Scottie Pippen play. Along with MJ, Magic, the Legend, the Worm, Zeke, the Admiral, the Mailman, Stockton, and many more. Scottie may have not been the best, but he had all the tools. This was a fine game for the exhibition of those tools!
