When I unboxed my CH-801 I used the shipping crate as a workbench by putting the top back on and leaving one side open for storage, saved me a ton of work and expense. Good luck on your build it is a great kit!

I remember our Zenith CH-250 Kit was delivered by a 40ft 18 wheeler. The driver wanted to just push the box off and let it drop to the driveway. I told him that was not acceptable so he said “OK, what’s your idea”. Having degrees in Physics and Mech Eng I came up with an idea of lowering one end of the box onto the driveway and tying a rope onto the end of the box still on the truck. I tied the other end to my car bumper in the garage. I pulled the car forward a little to raise the end on the truck up off of its floor then pulled the truck out of the way. I then slowly backed my car to lower the box onto a round fence post. We were then able to roll the box around enough to get the car out of the garage; then rolled the box into the garage. It did take two fence pipes but it got the boxed kit into our garage without damage. That was a LOT of Avex rivets ago😊.

Wow! Yeah, sometimes you really have to put your foot down--and get creative--to get things done the way they need to be!

Thank you. Great video to show the actual build prices (for me, a potential Zenith builder). Really shows what sweat+tears goes into building a homebuilt airplane, but, results in a real, ever-lasting pride; in building something that only un-waivering souls could achieve.

It even came with its own tinder. Very thoughtful of Zenith.

What a gift! They packed the plane in your work bench.. Cut 10 or 20 drawer openings in it and put some cheep slides in for drawers!! Now label all the drawers with the plasticized packing slips.. presto you have a great system for finding stuff 4 or 5 months after you have forgotten where you put them!!
I will follow your billed.. I almost bought this kit last year and then thought I would just rent.. Maybe I will committee and build one after all..

Hey thank you for sharing! Hearing stories like that really help to keep things in perspective. I know that, for me, it's sooooo easy to get bogged down in the nitty gritty details, or overwhelmed by the complexity of the whole project, but what really matters is that it's something we're working on together as a team. It just happens to be an airplane. Thanks again.
