Here is my new version of the Opheliac Instrumental, I've corrected a bit the introduction and added drums part. I hope you'll like it because I'm not good to make drums and I had some difficulties to find the sounds I wanted.
And I hope it will be better for you to make cover with it ^^

yes, but there is also Cubase, it depends to what do you have if you have instruments and what do you want to do with. Search for those two softwares before choose one.

I can't suggest one software, I just use Reason because it's the only one I know, cubase is hard to begin with but I think it's the one that Emilie use.
You can try LMMS (linux multimedia studio) which is free, and download free VST to start or look at thread that compare all music softwares.
Just a thing, if you want to try Cubase or Reason, you'll need tutorials because they are hard to use at the beginning but don't desperate ;)
This is very well done. I think the lead-in to the chorus needs work though...

what kind of music do you want to make ? because there are also fruity loops and ableton live that are also good and less expansive

I'm sorry but I'm not good at all for doing this, I just use some instruments but if I was a musician I would make better sounds. So I prefer to answer no, try to find a real musician ;) I also have to say that I don't have anymore time to make "music".
