Super interesting and helpful video, thanks Jessica. I do however have a comment about the sample return; only a skanky opportunist magazine editor would be that low. Not all jewelry is mass produced cheap junk- at least not of such low value that it should be assumed to be written off as a loss/the cost of contacting a venue. A high class magazine/industry publication would be ready to graciously guarantee a return of a sample. Yes, publications can be predatory (assuming "getting/keeping samples is a company perk"), but integrity does carry some value. I'm pretty sure Todd Reed gets his samples back.

Sometimes its just logistically difficult for editors to return everything they receive, so perhaps best to consider this when sending in a sample.

@JewellersAcademy I'm sorry, logistically difficult? Like hard to wrap it up and send it back in the box it came in, hard? Seriously, do you read what you write, Jessica? How many passes does a lack of integrity get? How much begging and brown nosing is required? It's about being professional and not accepting the opposite.

      @@JewellersAcademy That's a culture I don't feel like supporting.
