    Hope you enjoyed the video. Did anyone spot the terrible bad joke/pun within? Apologies

    Oh when you mentioned you’d rather have a microwave than a standard oven a huge “YES” resounded in our living room!!😂. I sure wish they would do this! Or better yet… a combi oven 👍

      @heyholetstow  Před 3 měsíci

      Yep. Totally. So backwards having an old fashioned oven, one that is generally not great either.

    We use Elsan organic, one bottle does tank and flush, so no need to carry two chemicals. Having just been away at a none toilet block site, I can vouch for its capability of breaking down toilet waste effectively. We much prefer the fragrance too.

    The blue toilet juice contains formaldehyde, which is not good for a septic tank, while the green toilet juice is formaldehyde-free, so is safe for septic tanks. The formaldehyde makes the fluid more effective, so Thetford state that the blue is effective for 4 days, and the green is effective for 3 days.
    Sites with a septic tank will ask you to only use green fluid.
    We use green fluid only, because then you only have to carry one thing, and our stays are usually 3 nights at most. The green is slightly more expensive, but not enough to worry about. The pods that you just drop in the tank are very clean and easy to use, and no more expensive than the fluid.

      thanks for the info. Yep, think we are going to invest in a bottle or two of the green stuff

    We have the drier you looked at near the beginning, it is very good! It won't blow over as you would peg it down!! (At least if it did blow over when pegged down, that would be the least of your problems!? As you were probably in a hurricane? ) we also have the mains adapter and that works well, the only thing is making sure you have it the right way up, i know that sounds obvious but there were not any markings on ours to make sure once all is tightened up.

      I can guarantee we will set up the water adapter upside down 😂 thanks for watching

    I totally agree with your comments about an oven. Most are not used. Can British caravan makers please wake up and catch up to reality? Give us the option to have the full job and oven, or extra storage with an air fryer and induction hob. Cooking a full Sunday roast in the caravan is no longer every caravaner’s priority!
    And while on the same rant, please start installing chargers that can deal with Lithium leisure batteries too… it’s 2024!

    Many sites are now asking for green. We had a pot of green tabs. You can use plainwater in tge flush too.

    Great vlog guys, if you want to try an eco friendly liquid for the cassette try Solbio it’s that environmentally friendly you can drink it!! We haven’t but I saw a Motorhome Matt Video where he did

    • @heyholetstow
      @heyholetstow  Před 3 měsíci

      We do have a bag of Solbio but haven’t go round to using it yet. Don’t fancy drinking it though 😂

    Looks like we had similar ideas 😂 love camping shopping. We have used Elson green think the blue is slightly better than green but not a lot of difference really 🤔

    We use the Elsin organic mainly because we have ceptic tanks at home. From Amazon of course. That shop looks dangerous 😂

    We've got one of those outdoor revolution induction hobs, we used it (outside) when we used to camp in the tent, a lot of heat comes out of the bottom of it though so we haven't used it in the van yet as we need to make sure we don't end up melting something!! 😬

    • @heyholetstow
      @heyholetstow  Před 3 měsíci

      We would probably put it on that IKEA cutting board we have. Does it get really really hot?

    • @Paulwillis1982
      @Paulwillis1982 Před 3 měsíci +2

      It does get quite hot. I think I was a little over cautious fearing it may blister the worktop surface. It's the size that's a bit of an issue too. We have the d44l and similar to yours the sink is next to the cooker. I was worried that the heat may affect the sealant around the sink but also the feet can overhang so it wobbles and not a firm surface. A longer board to go underneath might help. I've not given up yet. You need the gap underneath for the airflow. It is very good cooker. When we camped outside it maintained boiling temp perfectly without need for windbreak. Vango do a similar one and that has a bag. Outdoor revolutions does not so we have had to keep the box which isn't that sturdy. I agree on being surprised these aren't built in. When we started looking at caravans I wondered why Induction wasn't standard/optional alternative. Then the knauss Yeo concept van was on display like it was a groundbreaking idea.

    Great update and gadgets, we tend to use all service pitches where available, with your mains water adapter it might be worth getting the extension pipe, as a few times now we’ve needed ours, as without the supplied pipe wouldn’t have been long enough. Always fun buying caravan goodies. 😀😀

    • @heyholetstow
      @heyholetstow  Před 3 měsíci

      A few people have said get the extension. Will look into it but I don’t fancy carting around another length of pipe and not using it 😀

    We exclusively use the green toilet fluids, various brands. They do exactly the same job, and as more and more sites are insisting on green fluids only, it makes sense IMO just to carry one type around.
    Also, while we started off using pink chemical in the flush tank, we reasoned it was somewhat pointless; after all, you don't fill your home cistern with anything other than water, so that's now what we do in the van as well (According to a recent Q&A, this is what Dan Trudgian does as well, so we feel safe with this method)
    We do carry a spray bottle of the pink fluid for any freshening-up needs of the bowl.

    • @heyholetstow

      We are seriously considering switching.

    😭😭 why why why did you release this vid, only hours after I’d been into winfields (hull) for a new porch awning before going away this weekend, brilliant shop tho for awnings and bits and bobs, Nup Nup Nup I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to save 5-10% with my CAMC membership 🤣😭😭

      Give the a ring and see if they will honour it. If not take it back, get a refund, and then buy it off them again with the discount 😂

    I have used the Elsan Organic and works ok and some sites require you to use green fluids if their sewerage system works on a septic tank and not mains

    • @heyholetstow
      @heyholetstow  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yea, I’ve heard that. Might get one just in case. I take it you have to rinse the old chemicals away quite thoroughly

  • @nutsontour

    Yes Amazon can be next day. But it is still worth looking around and checking the deals. The colapze waste pipes are great . Space saving and you can asd more if you are a bit futher away from the waste drain... quite a few of the sites now only allow the green loo fluid. We use solbio. It js a little expensive but goes a long way. And it smells great.

    Our Favourite (if that’s a thing) Green chem is the 40 shots version as it has a nicer smell 😂
