I think, Tidal Wave got the best level in Transformers PS2 game. I mean, when you navigate through his internals, when he's in battleship mode, and then you fight him as robot. That's pretty awesome, if you ask me.

One way to make Tidal Wave a base is to keep the arms connected to the body. You then fold out the little compartment for Ramjet so that any Minion can use it as a lookout. The seats could also be little terminals.
the reason why there are fold down seats on the part that forms the legs is because it's used to carry troops from a docked boat to shore. it's how the D-Day troops were carried on to the German shore...

I believe the mini-con seats are just there for the uncombined ship. It would make sense seeing as the other two have mini-con gimmicks. This one just doesn't involve pegs. I like the idea of the base mode though.

It looks like you can take his arms and combine them with Cybertron Optimus Prime, giving Prime the arms of Tidal Wave. They look like they can plug into the same sockets in Prime's torso that his own arms plug into, but I could be wrong.
Yes, you can. I do it for his super mode because it always bugged me that he's the only prime EVER that has a super/combined mode without getting different arms. You can use them for the Sonic Wing mode too, but you need to unscrew his back panel and remove his normal arms completely

I'm late to the comments by a few years but here's my Question = how does TIDAL WAVE compare in size to Omega Supreme or Trypticon ? Is he equal in size to either of these transformers according to his Tech Specs or is smaller ? Why did they choose to rebuild him smaller in the cartoons when his Original body got destroyed and change his name to MIRAGE ?
fighting this guy in the armada game for PS2 was an absoulit hell. the only way to kill him is missiles to the head, and the head is the only way he can take damage.

You want the sniper rifle minicon, range boost minicon, seeking missiles minicon, and repair minicon. Snipe his head and shot rockets at it, and drive like hell when he gets near, healing up. You can also hide under the water in some spots that aren't so deep you take damage to heal up.

I'm looking toward to titans return, hopefully those figures will be as awesome as they look. But tone fair, its not Hasbro's fault for having hollow toys, since plastic gets more expensive over time.

Just saw this video again after your Energon version review. Well here's hoping you'll one day own the correct coloured Japanese version. ;) The 'combined' mode in the Japanese version is called 'Burning Megatron' or 'Burning Galvatron' depending on which Armada Decepticon leader he combines with. ;)
To me, Tidal Wave was the closest thing we ever got to Decepticon equivalent of Omega Supreme. A massive sudotitan with tons of guns and modes, and parts forming. I also am sad that we never got a second figure to combine with Megatron, like we got Overload with Optimus Prime. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Tidal Wave the ONLY transformer, who has ever been able to combine with Megatron?
Yeah, also I found out about recolors of RB and Starscream from Beast Wars 2nd, that could KINDA combine with tidalwave and megatron, creating one… HELL OF A weird combination.
The hovercraft has the chairs to send in minicons like infantry troops- so the hovercraft is a troop carrier

Wanted to get some terms right: Submarine --> Double Bowed Battleship and Hovercraft --> Troop Landing Ship
Giant Flying Ship Thingy --> Tidal Wave Warship

I always thought that the flip-up seats were for the individual ship modes, so that you could make the hovercraft into an open-air landing craft.

According to the PS2 game, the submarine, hovercraft, and aircraft carrier combined is actually supposed to his warship mode.
Oddly enough you could also combine Tidal Wave with Vector prime. The hover craft kinda acted as leg extensions for him if you did it right.

It's not a base mode, it's because the rear ship is a troop transport! So they made it in such a way it could transport minicons.

I was 3 when armada transformes toys were in the shops so i didnt have a big change of getting these, and i really like those in videos :(
