The most upsetting and shocking thing about this story is that the same officer beat a girlfriend's 3 year old child unconscious, got a way with it, AND THEN continued to be allowed to be an officer of the law... I don't understand how beating a child unconscious can NOT lead to prison. But instead having the charge be expunged.
The child was black, the mother of the child was black, the father or that child is black, but the cop is white so he has double protection.
His mistress? That's not a mistress, that's a booty call. You meet a mistress in a hotel, her home, not the back of cruiser. He'll be fired and hired on another force. This happens in my area all the time. Cop was fired from RPD, and said in his records he shouldn't be hired as a cop again, he was hired months later by Greece PD. The guy when on to abuse his power, stopping women with records, of all races, and told them they had to give him S favors to not get a ticket. A brave woman that came forward got the ball running, he only got 7 years in jail. They opened an investigation on the entire department and half was relieved of duty. The Captain had run a pregnant woman of the road, while drunk and high and left the scene. It was bad. The department owned up and it's much better now.

They're held to a higher standard due to the fact that they wield power and can end a life. It's a dangerous job, so they need to be on their Ps and Qs at all time.
And that is the very reason people who shouldn't be killed during routine traffic stops, calls to scene or pickups are being killed or disappearing without a trace.... Two main qualifications to serve as a cop seems to either they be criminal minded already or having low I.Q to ineffectively serve. I saw a bodycam video recently and the officer could barely read a woman her Miranda rights because he struggled to read and he had no effective communication skills he sometimes stuttered or talked in circles. I also noticed after the woman picked up on his other weaknesses at the station that her whole demeanor changed first treating him like he didn't exist in front of other officers then as he walked her out the side door (for whatever reason) after her release she started being XTRA XTRA nice to him if you know what I mean... That particular officer (nice as he was) is a sitting duck a developmentally delayed person should not be a police officer!

That's my suspicion. We need to change laws so that if LEOs are charged with violent offenses (among other offenses), those charges cannot be dropped by the victims and even if they are found not guilty by jury, the notations of those charges remain on their employment record permanently.

Not sure what he was arrested for, but he received 6 months in county and had to register as a sex offender. Every teacher knows you do not leave the kid who most wants to be in charge of the class in charge of the class when you step into the hall. It takes a special kind of broken to think you are (or deserve to be) in authority. Cops. Judges. Politicians. Wanting it should be an automatic disqualification.
