    No matter what health issues Anita had, she never lost her beautiful voice. She could’ve been one of the biggest stars of all time with that voice though she never pushed her career.

    When is the CMA going to recognize and honor these pioneers in radio and live entertainment. Helen , Anita and June Carter, they helped build Nashville and the CMHOF with great entertainment for 17 years (1950-67 as members of the WSM Grand Ole Opry. They were a very successful group in the 40's before the Grand Ole Opry days. they were very successful after the GOO days on the Johnny Cash show. There are so many accolades that you can say about their 60+ years of entertaining America. COME ON Its about time people!! CMA .Vote these 3 American sweethearts into the CMHOF (They Rocked)..

      @WatchVenusSpa Před 8 lety +5

      This is the same CMA that gives awards to failed rappers like Florida Georgia Line and rich mean girls like Taylor Swift by the ton. The CMA is as relevant as the Grammys at this point.

      Yea I know ,It's sad. But don't the veteran members like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton vote? I think any veteran member that knows about the "Famous Carter Sisters" legacy would gladly vote their band into the CMHOF; Mother Maybelle formed the band during WW2 and they were pioneers and a great American Success story. I could go on with many, many accolades ..There is not ONE female band in the CMHOF and the Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle should be inducted ASAP. There is a Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle tribute band coming out this year from Sunny Mitchell productions out of Folsom, California. Along with other American;legend tribute bands. It will be fun if you can see them.

      It truly makes me sick that they are left out! While others are just handed stars on the walk of fame that have no talent it only sounds good when it’s autotune and they can’t play an instrument nor write their own songs. But they still get a star!

      I totally agree with you. The CMHOF needs to stop focusing on the fake country of today and start giving the honors and awards to the real stars like the Carter Sisters.

    I understand that Anita had some severe arthritic problems and the Meds she took took their toll on her internal organs, hence the severe weight gain in her latter years. She was a beautiful woman in her day.

    • @111JenA
      @111JenA Před 5 lety +6

      Tom O'Neill yes She certainly was. Bless her heart I have rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic so I understand how that could be very difficult to deal with and try to hold things together when you’re on stage. It’s a painful crippling disease. It’s ruined my life and I just turned 45 and it started at 35. And like you said the medications they give sometimes make you worse off than what you were to begin with. I believe she died at June and Johnnys home because I know June was taking care of her when she became an invalid. That’s what it does it just slowly over time before you know it you can hardly get around. It ruined my 30s I didn’t get to enjoy them.

    • @carmenhardy2629
      @carmenhardy2629 Před 3 lety +2

      I have RA too and can testify how painful it is. In Anita's day they didn't have the meds for it like we have now and often had to rely on steroids which cause weight gain for relief. She certainly was wonderful and bore the poor health with her lifelong grace.

      +rockhard I have dug and found some rare recordings that were never released for sale when they were young, I love the early Anita stuff ,she was the greatest country singer of all time. I love Helens life work as well! Oh I love all their stuff with the family. Check my you tube channel and my facebook page Anthony Lupo for more recordings. I'm still working on making videos of songs that only their radio show fans heard back in the day. Some moron edited out some beautiful songs Anita sang. They are just great!

      Tony Lupo thank you so much for bringing us these wonderful memories. I was a kid and my mom was a huge Elvis fan as well as Johnny Cash. So I heard a lot of the songs growing up. God the years go quick.

      No realistic person would say that Helen or June were as vocally capable as Anita. They knew she was the best singer of the three, just as they knew Helen was the best musician.

      +Lana Margaret Knowles Anita says , "You kind of knew the chorus to everything and then you learned the verses as you went along, you know but if somebody stopped singing it, you automatically picked it up and started singing it where there was no voice" (Anita was talking about the early days of singing with her sisters and mom.) "The Appalachian Angel"

    Who was Rosey?

    • @barbarawilkes5037
      @barbarawilkes5037 Před 4 lety +2

      Rosie was June Carter's youngest daughter by 2nd husband, a race car driver (I think, know he wasn't in music biz). Rosie died same year as June & Johnny Cash did 2003. Rosie & fiancee passed from carbon monoxide inside of a converted motor home. Was in the latter part of the year.

      I know she had turned down a marriage proposal by Hank in 1952. So, they must've gone out, etc., but I guess Hank's occasional odd (even violent) behavior undermined anything further.
