I love Aristotle . He says prisons are pointless the reason for bad people is because the teachers are teaching them wrong morals and values and if they had a better leader they would be better people. Totally genius

lots of people smarter than me but ive began to realise in my life that debating and asking questions is very important and healthy, i think its insane im saying this in 2023 yet majority of people i meet take offence to questions and my or anyones elses opinions that challenge there own, in my experiences even if im 100% research backed certain they will still take offence and disregard you because of the small minded social repercussions in there head of accepting their wrong however petty it may be, im not a petty person and in fact id really like to make clear and understand it isnt from superiority complex but to actually teach and togethor we become more intelligent and there is excellent feeling from sharing knowledge and educating being educated and learning something intimatly
But a phrase always comes back in my head and i truly understand it now a younger me stuggled
Dont argue with stupid people becauae no one will know the difference
Ive deferred my own translation from that quote and its fuck em why do i care sad the world ive had to live in and i dont care what people think anyway but no matter how much i say it or anyone else we all do care about what other think to some extend whether we want to accept it or not ❤ sorry i done ****

These guys lived at the beginning of the timeline of when Human perception was starting to be questioned, as an absolute validity. Of course none of our speculations on what exists beyond our perception is demonstrable. Plato first, along with other philosophers cooked up an idea and belief to explain things, and Aristotle merely broke with him only to the extent he modified it. Both of them have a similar theory.

Aristotle, clearly. Plato continued the Pythagorean and Socratic idea of the eternal-by-nature soul, which led into Plotinus' insanity about returning to The One. These are some of the worst ideas to ever influence the West. Aristotle was more a materialist, who believed man was a composite of body & soul, not a soul trapped in a fleshly prison or clay cell.

Plato points up "This is what's real for real" ~ Soul. Aristotle says No, "This is what's real for real" ~ The Physical world. - This is why they say we live in an Aristotelian world. Plato was right though as the physical world is but the Post-Conscious residue of Dreams ~ Soul.

Plato is great in writing rhetoric and dialectic however his beliefs must be taken with a grain of salt. as should aristotles' as well. the slight on painters and poets is something that has always made me in an uproar.

Paintings arre a form of propaganda. Check Rafael's Escuola Greco. It shows Plato and Aristotle at the center among other illustrious discoverers. Plato is painted with Da Vinci's face. This theme is fought and contested over to this day in the Western world. The seeds are deeper than religion seeping throughout all facets of our society from politics to science to religion itself. The elites favour and promote Aristoteleanism.

If statue of 5 person were presented to you, how much would you be say about them? Nothing.
Then what is "Form comes from you" argument even supposed to mean?
Form is just form, a better form is helpful but that's about it. Form doesn't even remotely describe the person.
Might even give false perception of people as well, if we were to seek some pattern.

They are being constantly contested in the Western world up to this day. The elites prefer Aristotle and suppress the Platonists. Yet as much as they try, however slow the progress is, with each couple of centuries or so, in small steps, it is Aristotle who is being proven limiting for humans and thus downright wrong.
