  • We test 56/67/18 and 60/67/18 hx35 turbos! I do rebuild these turbos and install new parts in them. Sound clips and spool up at the end of the video. Thanks guys

    My hx35 has been damn tough. Pushing 38psi and 1400 EGT’s and working it.

    56mm 8 blade-51 lbs min 408 whp
    55mm 7 blade 56 lbs min 448 whp
    60mm he comp 70lbs min 560 whp
    All Holset kg corrected to lbs min at SAE conditions or .073 lbs cube foot. Or what we have seen on the chassis dyno.

    I have a 92 w250 auto that has an h1c with 18cc exhaust housing. I am planning on trying an hx35 with a 12cc exhaust housing off of a 5.9l school bus. (That's all the dimensions I know on both turbos) Do you think I'll see an improvement?

    Why didnt the stock compressor wheel work? I would like to swap to a 60mm wheel on my turbo .

      It would have but it was a bad wheel, it came out of a core turbo. The wheel appeared to be fine but was not. A new stock wheel would work I just do not have one on hand at the moment

    So you think an hx 35 is an good idea for a truck that only has a fuel pin and 3200 rpm govenor spring??

    • @GavinHuke
      @GavinHuke  Před 4 lety +1

      Absolutely. A stock hx35 would be an upgrade for a bone stock truck, with what you have id even run a modified hx35

      The hx35 is perfect for that. This turbo makes peak power from 1800-2200 before it starts to fall off. It spools low and fast and is performing towing. It will taper off at 2500 and be done at 3000 rpm.

    I been looking at trucks for awhile, I have a car so it isn’t gonna be my main vehicle, but I really been looking at a first gen that runs great and has only farm truck wear and tear, and I have a good deal on it. Is it worth it?

      @GavinHuke  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes for a truck to have around I think it's a good option..I drove this one 100 miles a day on average and it did its job. They are good trucks and when they are set up properly then run awesome.

    Should you balance turbos?

    • @GavinHuke
      @GavinHuke  Před 3 lety +1

      Its never a bad idea but if you are buying balanced components it will work perfect
