    Great video as always!! The best since Firepower made me bust out laughing so loud my cat jumped off the chair she was sleeping on and left the room haha. I haven't picked this one up yet, but I will hopefully next week. To that, I very much appreciate you going through the deluxe edition songs!

      Thanks as always. Glad I made you laugh (sorry it disrupted your cat's sleep though). Yeah: you definitely don't need the deluxe edition. "The Lodger"... 😝

      Modern Priest > Modern Maiden. If Maiden didn't have Eddie, nobody would be buying their later albums IMO.

    I totally agree that the separation of the members was in some bizarre way, better for them!
    Because in the end, even if some fans got what they wanted, which is the trio of Rob, Kk and Glen again, I don't think they would have a good chemistry like in past decades, much less sound identical
    I'm totally in with these new incarnations of the band, regardless of whether they're not the original members all together

    • @EddyCannistraci
      @EddyCannistraci  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Exactly. I rather hear albums from these two bands than the band that put out Nostradamus. I don't think Rob, KK and Glenn together would've created anything as classic sounding as Firepower or Invincible Shield. Like you said: the chemistry was no longer there.

    The CD booklet says songs written by Tipton , Halford , and Faulkner. Glenn can most likely still wtite music, but I don't think he did any guitar solos on Invincible Shield. It all sounds like Faulkner to me. I agree with you that Invincible Shield is a great album, but Firepower is still better. It might change in the future because Invincible Shield keeps better with every listen for me. I got a feeling that this is the last studio album. Excellent review.

    @EbolaAioli Před 3 měsíci +1

    I'm my opinion, it's more important that Tipton was involved in the composition of the album than the actual performance on the album. Faulkner is definitely a talented guitarist and plenty capable of performing anything that Tipton composes. I also believe that Tipton would have performed on the recording. Studio recording is always done in multiple parts with several takes, and the recording process often takes many hours and multiple days to get all of the parts recorded for just one track. Tipton wouldn't need to have the stamina to play for a total of six minutes to contribute to the entirety of a song.

    • @EddyCannistraci
      @EddyCannistraci  Před 3 měsíci

      I also value Glenn's songwriting contributions to his performing and likewise think it's possible he played on the album, especially after reading some of these comments and thinking about it more.

    @JCStorm76 Před 3 měsíci +3

    Great review. Their best album since Painkiller for me, i like every song to varying levels, it’s better, more concise and energetic than Firepower so we disagree there, but definitely not their very best album ever as some are saying.
    Favourite songs, the title track, Gates Of Hell and Trial By Fire

      Thanks for watching and for commenting. In many ways, I feel like this Invincible Shield is Defenders of the Faith to Firepower's Screaming For Vengeance. @@EddyCannistraciFirepower and Invincible are so close but just taking the first 5 tracks : 1. Panic Attack over the song Firepower- 2. The Serpent And The King over Lightning Strike- 3. The song Invincible Shield over Evil Never Dies - 4. Devil In Disguise over Never The Heros- 5. Gates Of Hell over Necromancer because Gates Of Hell has that commercial 80's element but I love all tracks on both albums..to close the albums last 3 tracks I'll take Escape from Reality over No Surrender- Sons Of Thunder over Loan Wolf and Giants In The Sky over Sea Of Red but again not by very much but yeah Invincible Shield to me is the best Judas Priest album since 1984's Defenders Of The Faith
