I’m currently 42+1 day pregnant. Just waiting for natural spontaneous labor. Refused all inductions so far (though from 0 support from the whole OB team-instead just keep getting harassed) I understand policies are policies BUT the medical field does not give enough credit to mothers instinct or choice. It’s very sad.
My baby is smart enough to pick her own birthday. My body was smart enough to conceive, and then grow a
child beautifully; it is also smart enough to know when it is the right time
to give birth.
Update:
Gave birth naturally (no induction) completely unmedicated birth!!! Delivered at 42+4weeks. Labored for 4 hrs and she was out in 4 pushes!! The nurses and doctors were shocked that baby girl did not have a single sign or symptom of being postterm. :)
Thank you for sharing your update with your birth. Currently 41+4 and kind of anxious. Getting naturally induced for 2 days now. Somehow your positive birth update gave me some hope that baby will be just fine. Congratulations!!!
Was it your first baby? I am currently pregnant with my first baby and have heard that first baby are overdue.
@@mariaamaro3461 No this is my third. All of which were 42 weekers! Some women’s gestational age is off because you don’t exactly know the day you ovulate. I gave birth to my third at 42+4 days naturally! She was the most overdue of the three! Perfectly healthy 8lb baby & the nurses & doctors were shocked that she had absolutely no signs of being postterm.
@@yevastepanov wow that's amazing! Thanks for sharing God bless you and your family ☺️
Well done Charlotte, I've been watching you for quite a while now and although it might seem weird I want to say I'm proud of you. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with my second baby but my first was born at 42+3, weighing 9lb 4oz and measuring 56cm. It's so true that baby was amazingly alert, even holding his own head up the morning after he was born.
To any mum's who are 42 weeks pregnant and watching this video, and probably waiting to be induced: take everything as it comes. I had a very positive induction experience (although it was quite long!) and I'd even go as far as to say I wouldn't mind going to 42 weeks and being induced again. Good luck xx
42 weeks... I’ve felt fine this entire 3rd trimester but today I feel a bit defeated and upset. I just wanna hold my baby. It feels like forever 😞

The word "overdue" should not even be used. Babies are not overdue or due. They do not have a due date like food or other items. They are just sometimes slower in growth or the mother has long cycles or the dates were wrongly calculated. But as long as the baby and the mother are healthy, there should not be pressure to induce the labour or to do a cesarean from the medical field. They should accept that not all mothers and not all babies fit into the 40 weeks model that is anyhow just a guess and not a scientifically based calculation of how long a pregnancy is.
My daughter Lola was born at exactly 42 weeks weighing exactly 8lbs! So the weight is accurate on this video 😏 these videos will be so helpful for people, I wish I could have watched them! Good job Charlotte x
If you’re reading this, you’re amazing. You got this momma!
Well done Charlotte, I really could have done with this when I was 42 weeks pregnant as there doesn't seem to be much on being overdue!!! Lovely xxx
I am 42 weeks tomorrow and due to be induced im terrified and in so much pain and discomfort all i think about is holding my son but the pain im in just makes me want to cry all the time i hope i can do this!
Congratulations, I’m 41 weeks right now and I’m thinking I would have to be induced, if you don’t mind me asking...How did your delivery go???
I am 42 weeks tommorrow and no sign of labour,I feel impatient but again I don't want to be induced.
I’m 42 weeks tomorrow and I’m declining induction. So many people go to 42 weeks and I didn’t realize this until they managed to stress me out over being over due!
Me right now.
Watching this from my hospital bed, waiting for baby to come. Omg I'm so close I could cry!
42 weeks today. Hospital too full to do too much :( second pessary given and if that doesn't work there's a 2 day waiting list for waters breaking 😓 very emotional and my husband can't stay over night with me

Thank you for this video. There really isn’t a lot for moms who go past 40 weeks. I’ve had three little ones at 42 weeks. I’m on baby number 4 I assume I will go past my due date...again.
Did you have to be induced?
Had my 1st induced at 41 weeks...born 2 days after induction.
Currently with baby #2....might have to be induced again.
Amazing videos guys x
I’m taking my butt to the hospital today because I want to get induced so bad lol 😂 my baby already close to 10 pounds 😩
Haitian Goddess how did everything go??
Thank you I been watching since day one
Crazy to me that some women carry as long as 45 weeks for all of their babies. Some people's bodies and babies just take longer! I'm 40+5 and trying to be patient 😂
Me too
I never got this far in the series because I had my baby at 39+3 weeks. But thank you Charlotte for these videos you were there my entire pregnancy journey 😊 we had a tiny but healthy 5lbs 6oz little boy, I was induced on oxytocin with my waters breaking naturally. I also had a natural drug free birth and never have I experienced such pain in my life 😅 but it's so worth it. No one speaks about the newborn sleep deprivation though 😂
My wife is 42 week on 17.01.2018. There is no labour pain and lot of tension in her mind. So plz give me some suggestions I think for this serious problem.
We have twins that are 40 Weeks and 3 days and the staff is just like it's fine but I'm like in panic mode feeling.
41 plus 2....think he’ll be here soon 💙
I'm here at 41+2, wanting reassurance. My midwife team is on board, babe is moving well, have an ultra-sound check-up today to make sure babe is looking good as well. They can look all they want! I'm waiting.
Am 41weeks 3days I felt so bad and sad can’t wait to see my baby
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos Charlotte and all those lovely ladies on Channel Mum :D they are still so encouraging, supportive and helpful years later :D
Hi dear
My due date is 15th december (today) but i didn't have any kind of labor pain or any other symptoms of labor please suggest me if there is something to worry, my husband is so worried as our due is passing but i have no progress to get into labor. Should I wait for 42 weeks or I should go for labor induction. Please help me
My brother was born at 42 wks pregnant and I was born at 40 wks pregnant
@ my 41+3 it feels like it's been forever and im really getting pressured since everyday almost everyone is asking why I haven't given birth yet, they are telling me to get induced but I wanna wait as much as I can. I'm hoping my baby knows when is the right time for her to come out, glad I stumbled upon this video n was able to read the comments
❤ how did it go in the end?
How do you guys deal with baby that wont stop punching the cervix fir hours nothing we tryed has helped soo painful in tears 😢
Ashtin Campbell cry
I feel you on this…this has been happening to me for a week now. Lots of support from birthing partner, lots of cuddles and kisses and reassurance. When it happens, try and flop and relax with deep breathing. Go on all fours to help push baby off your cervix, in a way they will be floating and not adding further pressure in this position
Currently 41+4!
Hannah In Hawaii 😱 do you have your baby with you now?
No more mamas left to share their 42 weeks pregnant experiences ?
Waw that really makes me feel I’m the only one that didn’t give birth yet 😅!
