Rally competitors will always try to keep going, they are pretty good at emergency repairs. Always have been from the early pioneering days. That’s what is great, not just highly paid professionals but willing to get their hands very dirty. Brilliant sport.

In Kenya most police carry long rifles and we are used to it.
Imagine driving in the dirt with a huge hole in the car body near the rear wheel. You probably end up with more dirt inside the car than outside the car.
Pain.

Not much torque on those wheel nuts… Not to mention the sequence of tightening them.
They take surprisingly little torque but that tightening sequence is questionable

Of course they have automotive tape - but in the elements (heat, water, rocks, mud, etc) the cable ties are far superior

These Rally1 body shells cannot stand anything.
They're built that way. They crumple to absorb impact energy. Yes, the cars look very banged up and they are losing body panels, but it's the cars absorbing the impact, not the crew.

@@bhuplaysguitar No it's worse, it's a bespoke chassis that's supposed to be designed to endure the violet rigors of rally racing and yet the Hyundai's are still more prone to failure and unreliability. Will check after the Safari Rally is done and see how many issues the Toyota's have versus the i20.
@@AKK5Iall cars with a puncture suffer similar damage if at you've been watching WRC since 2013. Body panels are carbon fibre ddue to weight reduction. Long as the dampers weren't damaged...that was expected the moment he continued to drive with the puncture

@@harrisonmbugua5337 casuals who can't tell all those body panels on Rally 1 & 2 are carbon fibre and will be damaged by flying rubber from a punctured tyre
