I love the fact that despite her being a sociopathic malignant narcissist, the minute Luther had her figured out in the interview room she began to genuinely fall for him.
Last "NOOO!" makes me goosebumps. Can't imagine other actress in this role.
Imagine Rashi Khanna
Alice sees clearly without feeling
John feels clearly without seeing
No
It's the exact opposite.
John is incapable of understanding love . He just couldn't grasp the entire concept of it. Duty always came first for him no matter whoever it was, to him duty always was the priority. Zoe understood that , that's why she left . Zoe knew .And that was his weakness . A weakness for which his loved ones paid the price.Alice understood it but she was also incapable of leaving him behind as she truly loved him and so suicide was the only way to free herself from him.
It's sad but what a beautiful beautiful concept . I was truly moved by this series.
@@theofrustus3170 I have to disagree because Luther is a very emotional human who understands love but could not approach it correctly at first. He feels strongly, and he loved Zoe, and he understood that love to the end, but he just wasn't at that point where he could healthily manage the emotions from his work and those from home. Hence, he couldn't "see" when to step away from Zoe while Alice could, and Alice, whose natural approach to life is being cold and calculating, couldn't understand Luther's love for Zoe when she kept pushing him away, because she doesn't understand love at that early point in her character, and ends up killing herself because the first human being who she loved (John) couldn't reciprocate those feelings in the way she wanted, having now known what love and lack of love feels like. Sorry for the wordiness
Alice is officially the best character in television
And she should return to it.
I haven't seen her be able to realize any character better than she did this one.
Agreed

@@omatosh8108 Your comment made me search and discover first 3 seasons of Killing Eve. Thanks.
@@StevenMann1573 amazing?
He actually really cares about her. He always did. I think he recognised more of himself in her than he’d care to admit. That’s why he left the gun parts.
"actually cares"
You just know somebody's getting ready to defend a manipulator lols
@@Onigirli Is manipulation necessarily a bad thing, when someone is destroying themselves?
I love this scene for the acting. Both of them. But I especially love all of the subtle changes in Alice Morgan's expression. It also shows the quirky dynamic between the two.
Luther is a brilliant detective. He knows Alice is obsessed with him. He knows that she has no qualms about killing and can easily circumvent police. He told her "I can't do this anymore, not while this thing is hanging over my head." It doesn't take a Luther to figure out what she will do next
He didn’t know. He used Madsen as a way of distancing himself from her yes. By making it look like he was doing it to protect her, feed her ego in such a way she wouldn’t try to kill him. From his reaction when she does what she does I think he genuinely didn’t see it coming.
The weirdest break up ever
I swear I miss their chemistry on screen.
me to !! i love them!!
Luther manipulated Alice so she can execute the guy who woke up! Especially by saying, "as long i got this thing over my heard, i can't talk to you" he knows what will be her next course of action eliminate the source of the displeasure of not seeing Luther anymore
Why did he sound so pissed off when she called him later about it? Was it part of the act too or was he mad she told him he ought to be more thankful for something she did of her own accord?
@@Onigirli Imo he did it subconsciously. Deep down he was glad she killed him but the moral side of him couldn't accept it. which is really how their entire relationship is.
One of the best on screen couples I have ever seen.
Stupid to kill her off
Luther needs Alice back. Huge Alice-shaped hole in S4.
Andrew Griffiths Luther needs to quit fucking around, and tap that ass. Tap it smooth, soft, then hard.
It turns out that Luther did tap that ass
Did Luther knowing use Alice as a hit man ? He knows she tends to things outside the law....so maybe subconsciously he came here to use her as a hitman. Think about his choice of words "I can't see you. Not while this thing is hanging over my head".
Shonen Hikada No it wasn't subconscious at all, he has known her through and through from the start, but she would've willingly done it had he asked.. It's just the nature of their relationship, I s'pose.
Of course he knew she’d kill Henry Madsen.
Shonen Hikada watching that scene would suggest that he knew she would end up killing Henry Masden
He wasn't asking her but he knew she would,,, if that makes any sense if you get what I mean hahaha
that's what makes luther dark. he does stuff like that. like in the last season he used his partner as bait to catch a killer. she didn't even realize that he was using her as bait until after they caught the bad guy.
I loooove Alice. She’s crazy, a controlled crazy. At the same time, she’s very intelligent.
Yes sir she is!
Men really should stop fantasizing about and romanticizing women like her. Fiction and real-life.
@@Fakename70 TRUST me, there are women like her are out there!!!! TRUST me what i say this!!!!
"Sentiment a chemical default found in the loosing side"
Notice her pupils dilate
I wish American actors/actresses acted this good. Britain has the best acting hands down.
haas man There are plenty of brilliant American actors.
Ehh, not really. You probably just think they're American because they're English or Aussies doing an accent. Even the actors with the smallest parts in these series' are always raw with genuine talent. That's what's truly remarkable.
ourcorrect opinions reply directly to the person in the future. Haha
agreed brits are way better
Without a doubt, he moved her like a chess piece on the board. He KNEW that she would kill Henry to keep her relationship with John. I think she loves him, because he’s the only person that has her completely figured out and is even (in a way) superior to her. Even early on, John knew that Alice would do ANYTHING for John. He exploits that here.
She’s amazing. Her facial expressions make this scene
She does this little head-shake of denial after he says he can't see her anymore that I just love, right after 1:27
I think he implanted the idea in her head that she should and he could not repair the situation.
BOOM! BOOM! These two are so great together! I want a LUTHER movie or ALICE spinoff!
They are in the works of the Alice spinoff.
That's so awesome! I heard something about a LUTHER movie that would be sort of a prequel to the TV episodes highlighting the Henry Madsen investigation. Fingers crossed!
Well that was it then. They said they either wanted an Alice spinoff or movie.
apartment906 But a prequel would have no Alice Morgan in it. :(
Every time a British person says ma'am, it sounds like mom.
The thing I love about this show are the subtle way the tension is drawn out like a violin string until it finally climaxes
damn rights! I feel exactly the same way too
when she said No the second time! OMG! :D
Why would he tell her that Madsen woke up if he didn't want her to kill him? That is typical of Luther the hypocrite. Its ace how she plays him as much as he plays her.
wozzlepop I agree with you, don't get me wrong but he does say that shit about surveillance right. Who knows what else these two talk about haha.
I really like this show, I like Luther & Alice together
Two of the best things that happened to Luther, wife leaving him. Meeting Alice Morgan.
i agree!! and i think when alice was with him the best of her, talking about her caractere ,was coming out!!
I love that outfit she's wearing
Alice is creepy hot.
Why am I shipping a heroic cop and a sociopathic serial murderer together? Alice is too likable for some strange reason. Reminds me of Negan.
Kinda like the Batman/ Joker variant at times.
@@alphonzodarty7021 I was just going to mention that, lol. It literally is as if it was Batman and joker in a different Universe somewhat. Alice Morgan has legit the Joker smile and facial expressions too.
did luther purposely tell alice about this because he knew she would do the job for him? if so, luther is dark as hell
Yeah that was my reading. He was totally honest about wanting to cut her off but he also accurately predicted what she'd do in response and wanted her to do it. Luther is one crafty jake
Icecube88 that’s what makes the show so interesting. That “play off” of and use each other.
You know your life about to get complicated when you 'break up' with a girl and she keeps shouting "Noooo!!" as you stand up and walk away :P
I’m so in love with Ruth Wilson. ❤️
He TOTALLY played her! Brilliant!
The original good high school teacher lol.
Luther's obvious insincerity made me grin. "Sorry... y'know... I really am..."
Well, she didn't take that too well!
Do they ever?
Please seek the immediate attention of an experienced psychiatrist.
Since I am American I had to research the references of the joke in the beginning now I know makes the joke hilarious. Charge one and let the other one off lololol. Basil Brush looks hilarious.
I'll holler at you when I need some help stealing evidence from police custody...
Such chemistry
I would marry Alice, even though I know I'm gonna die for it. She is the sexiest character I may have ever seen. What. A. Woman.
Everyone thinks this is break up but in truth, this is manipulation 101, at this precise moment is when John Luther ordered Alice to kill Madison
Inception!!!
I love the episode when Luther roughs up Alice and then slaps the handcuffs on her 😄😄😄
We really need to start watching this show.
Love Alice
Luther knew she’d kill Madsen. He is far more complex you would believe.
Chemistry between them is so palpable.
He is in love with this woman,he got her out of jail, risking his job! She said in her mind" this is MY bae! That's it ; and I'm not sharing
the series definitely needs way more episodes even if they reduce the time to 45mins per episode.
I wonder why John won’t ever make it official with Alice???
It might be pragmatism, Luther might fear Alice would kill him if she gets bored, and making it official might be exactly what would make her lose interest. Part of what she loves about him is his self-repression. And also Luther might be dirty but I don't think he's ready to become as shameless a killer as Alice is.
Watch the series.
No counter argument, just an insult.
She’s so damn hot and terrifying. What’s wrong with me 🤨
You real into cartoon-duck-looking broads?
@1:44...... like a BOSS!!!!!
Crazy Love.
that joke though!!
She is an asset for luther. He's not so good without her
Lol he just broke up with her so she would kill Madsen. She's his dog.
What Season & What Episode is this.
Series 1, not sure which episode; probably either 3 or 4. Definitely not 1 and definitely not 5 & 6.
...this shit just got personal!!!
Luther!
LUTHA!!!
EP ?????????????????????
Did he actually manipulated her into killing Henry Madsen.
Breaking up like a boss
"Boom boom."
Which serious is this?
Alice.
Like British shows like Luther? Check out Constantine fridays at 10pm on NBC with reruns airing on Syfy.
Couldn't the two lovebirds elope to Belgium and enjoy life. Like why would they kill Alice? The show will not be the same without her and I not watching it after either. She's the only interesting character in the show. All others kept changing every season that the show becomes boring.
