Love the fact that Pat now works for espn and not afraid to call espn reporter out . Way to go boys
Jay williams called her out aswell
Not that deep. Being outspoken is the thing. Everyone does it
Espn is garbage so pat sold out !!! Nobody has cajones to stand up and speak on their own.. everyone fears having a take or opinion different than the mainstream BS
@@itcantbetruebutis7778 you drinking kool aid buddy. The entire industry is “ hot takes”.
Also: Pat isn't beholden to ESPN. He does some college gameday stuff for them, but he doesn't NEED ESPN. So even if ESPN would "get mad and fire" him over it, oh no, what's Pat going to do now? Just run his already uber succesful show with his fan duel sponsorships that built him a literal small stadium for a set with a full size basketball court? Damn, I am sure Pat would be hurting so bad... and Pat's platform is growing so large that ESPN firing him would become national news.
Basically, Pat can and will say whatever the hell he wants, because he's not beholden to ESPN. If they don't like it, he's just fine without them. They brought pat into college gameday, because of the audience he has created for himself. They need him, not the other way around.
Massive props to Gio. He handled that so extremely well it's unbelievable
💯💯💯💯
Dude was going to pull a Marshawn move and say, I'm here so I won't get fined"
He actually handled it poorly. I thought he was going to cry.
SHES NO DIFFERENCE THAN POOOPOOO GRANT COHEN!!! THEY ARE NOT REPORTERS...they are bloggers.....with a tag to cover a NFL team. They wouldn't be able to report anything else in a real 'JOURNALIST" job.
@@fredbologn2344 agreed, the press were calling him out for being a primadonna. “You didn’t interview me all year” then try’s to storm away.
And she has seemingly held her ground about this. Entitled AF.
i'd fire her ass, its pathetic
She's repugnant.
Yeah. She is literally human garbage.
The most embarrassing and pathetic part about it is that they don’t even consider the fact that someone might not give a f about their job, which makes “just doing my job” not mean a damn thing. Guy has played the most violent sport at the most violent position for over a decade, leave him alone for gods sake. Entitled AF is right.

Cant forget he is literally a Walter Peyton Man of the year award nominee, LOVE Gio, he is such a nice person, still miss him on my bengals
When the dude said “what have you done all year for us to talk to you about” that sent me through the roof. Major props to him for handling that well
Yea same here that statement was crazyyyy!
Should get smacked tbh. Learn to come correct then
Yeah, that statement was so disrespectful. He wasn't acting like he did anything all year for them to talk to him, and they waited to talk to him until AFTER he was fully dressed and starting to walk out of the locker room.
for those unaware, the press are basically allowed into the locker room almost immediately. And the press was choosing to spend that early time talking to other players and not him. So he started to leave and then they swarmed him. They could have gone up to him right away before he was ready to leave. They didn't.
No doubt he messed up. He owned it. And they kept reasking the question about it like the answer was going to change. Hey, I already said that entire play was on me. I screwed up. What more do you want. You haven't talked to me all year, I really don't have anything else to say.
As he never done anything worth talking about in his life 🤣

I was very upset at that play because it was a huge momentum swing. More upset at the decision to call that fake punt. But as far as Gio, my respects. He was very patient and self-restraint, and took complete responsibility for what happened in that play. As far as the reporters basically harassing him, it was so unprofessional and disrespectful.
i think that fake punt is basically assured to work and get a first down if gio was ready (or...even knew it was happening before hand?). it looked open for the yard or two they needed, maybe more cause gio is a solid runner.
Stares straight into camera, smirk on his face. “Yeah that was me out there… twentyFIVE.” U kno he feel different but to these guys he ain’t showing it. Respect
Interviews are a one way interaction. The person being interviewed has all the accountability and the person doing the interview has none. When has a reporter been singled out nationally for being unprofessional. It doesn’t happen.
Gio handled that much better than they deserve!!
I miss Gio. He was one my favorite Bengals during your tenure.
I miss him in Carolina. Absolute legend in Chapel Hill.
Just disrespectful
Pat, I’d like to point out that it isn’t THAT hard to get these positions in locker rooms for 75% of the people in there. Nepotism is the biggest boost in the sports media world and it gets worse every year - most people with insider positions have family or family friends who were affiliated in some way with a major sports teams.
I'm pretty sure you just described every job ever
@@pbskids4000 you must be 12 if you think like that.
Media is like this not just sports, look at every activist journo out there, all come from money and defend the positions that help out Daddy or Daddy’s friends businesses
The problem is a lot of writing/media positions now require large amounts of internship, which is only viable for trust-fund kids, or by circumvention through dishonest hiring practices.
I’ve noticed with all the comments… most sports fans really don’t care about reporters getting the answers they want… yeah we going read the article possibly but at the end of day we all saw the game… S.O. To BeastMode
Reporters shouldn't WANT an answer, they aren't crafting a story. They should ask a question and get the answer and REPORT it. Preferably with a bit of humanity tossed in. And no jabs about how he should wait for them to get around to browbeating him at their convenience.
Favorite Bengal of all time, Gio has been a class act then and now.....

Let's remember it wasn't that one play that caused the Bucks to lose the game. It was a culmination of a lot of bad plays and decisions.
I might be over-thinking it but I thought the NFL has post-game interviews to allow journalists to ask the questions? This just seems like a camera jammed in his face, whatever happened to protocol?
It’s worth pointing out that Jenna is the same journalist who tried to bait their head coach, Todd, Bowles, into talking about race a few weeks ago. When he didn’t give her the soundbite she wanted, she lectured him (a black head coach) about the significance of black coaches in the NFL.
Pure class. Well done sir, tough spot to be in.

Can we start pointing the finger at these media clowns ?! … I feel like people drag players but they really have to put up with a lot of BS outside of what they get paid for
I seen the headline and I already knew the media was trying to spin it without having to watch it.
Right? Wasn't even bad. Reporters acting like their lives are being disrespected.

such entitlement by the reporter. She fails to realize the only reason she has a job is because players are nice enough to let them into the mind of an nfl player they can easily be a jerk about it every time but they let these reporters get their clicks
So we can agree that players are essentially the reporters customers, yes? Players don't talk, media has no job. Answers are money, it's a comparable exchange. So imagine if someone talks to their businesses customers like this what would happen. They'd lose their job almost immediately. ESPN should 100% hold their reporters accountable for ethic and integrity and professionalism.

The athlete shouldn't have to answer questions, at that time, if they are treated that way. That is sad. Bengals fans were sorry to see him go. He is still one of my faves. Two Buccaneers are GOATS, one just happens to be a scapegoat. Nobody said anything to him at all?
All media needs to be defunded and re-educated
THE THING that I'm surprised about is no one has mentioned there is no video of how that conversation started. I dont like to see part of the conversation and people come to conclusions based on part of it. I'm not saying anything either way, not defending anyone.. only saying I havent seen how the conversation started.

I don't think the "you've been injured all year" thing was meant as a shot, I think it was more meant as "we are more interested in talking to the guys that we're part of the big plays in a given game and if you're injured that doesn't include you at the time" like it isn't intended as a shot, or didn't seem that way to me, from the girl anyway. He's right about the dudes' tone though, he was very condescending so I think that was unnecessary. I could be wrong though, the media has a long history of backhanded compliments and insults hidden in pretty words
I'd agree with you that it doesn't seem like a shot if she did it once. But she literally says it five times in like 90 seconds. Dunno how you can be that socially awkward when your job is to interact with players and still keep your job.
It was. She doubled down on it on twitter, and asked if she needed to get Gio a coloring book in the replies to someone.
there is this thing called context. the media loves to swing that bat at others, but never accepts it used against them. the words themselves are not inherently bad imo, but holy frick did that whole thing look and sound RUDE. and that's why i agree with Pat. the player needed his moment of persecution, but it's supposed to be professional, not like a bunch of hyena assholes chomping at the bit to be superior to the guy who fucked up

Media should learn RESPECT before they talk about how important they are.
They're not as important as they think. They can be replaced with a 6yo and we'd watch it.
If you're a reporter and your immediate go-to is "well, you've been injured all year" or its "what have you done all year" you shouldn't be a reporter. Yes they probably worked hard to get where they are, but do that enough and no one's gonna want to talk to you.
Am I crazy? Does it not sound like he’s upset that they want to talk to him. Saying “why do y’all wanna talk to me you haven’t talked to me all year?” And they’re just saying “well you’ve been hurt all year… don’t say we never talk to you. You haven’t been here”
Yea he just sounds upset that he has to answer this game since he messed up. He hasn’t gotten a lot of media attention all year cause he hasn’t really had a chance to do anything.
exactly, tired of these clown athletes who act like they owe absolutely nobody anything
His point being "You didn't wanna talk to me all year. But now you're all swarming me after I royally screwed up because that's all you care about."
The response being "What have you done for us to talk about you?"
