    met the duke once - i was lucky enough to go to a boarding school whose choir was invited to sing at chatsworth every two years and stay the night there
    the duke showed me a picture of a chair and asked me to sit on it - turns out it was made of elastic fabric and u really could sit on it
    he also led us to a garden with secret hoses and ended up getting all of us wet
    but the funniest was when he drove a golf cart and all of us (at least 15 of us) climbed onto it and we sped around the garden everywhere

    Manchester-born writer, CA MacRae, met with Carolyn Reynolds, Executive Producer of Coronation Street over a script she wrote in 2004. Inspired by Carolyn's positive comments C.A. MacRae began research years later when life enabled her. So if you love Downton Abbey and conspiracy theories, then you will love C.A. MacRae's Gemini Complex, The Cabal: After the final demise of the Cathars at Chateau Mount Montségur in the south of France in 1244, a heroic rescue by a Knights Templar took place. Six hundred and fifty-three years later a murder and spate of suspicious deaths of the clergy become linked in the south of France. Flo’s first day (10th November 1918) at Chandringham doesn’t work out quite how she imagined. A bright but humble farm girl finds herself thrust into the upper echelons of society. Rather than being trained in the everyday tasks of a maid, she’s told she needs to leave her old life behind and immerse herself in the life of the aristocracy, as Lady Mary Tavistock. Her world is turned upside down, Flo realises she’s not the person she’s always thought she was, and to make matters worse she finds out her life is endangered. In order to make sense of who she really is and what her purpose in life is, she’s sent to Switzerland to meet others of her kind. The Gemini Complex, The Cabal is the first book of a trilogy. It's going to be released later this year.

      Tis a museum now. But Chatsworth is a conspiracy theorist dream . Of course the English aristocrats would say different... But more.meets the eye to Chatsworth estate. From the oblisk in the woods. The water fountain shooting up as high as 297 feet...to engine rooms disposed off. The greenhouse/orangery that mysteriously burnt down. After the Cavendish banana. And watermelons were grown inside of it... In middle of England.
      Inside is littered with pagan ideology.

    Chatsworth House was where C.A. MacRae drew her inspiration for Chandringham. Check out the book, Gemini Complex, The Cabal
    After the final demise of the Cathars and Knights Templars six hundred and fifty
    years later, a murder and a series of suspicious deaths of the clergy become a link to
    an innocent farm girl starting her first day as a maid in the stately home called
    Chandringham, England in 1918. She is thrust into the upper echelons of society and
    told to immerse herself in the life of the aristocracy, as Lady Mary Tavistock. She
    struggles with erasing her existence as Flo and all she has ever known. Her
    questions are abundant, but nobody seems to be answering them, and worst of all,
    Mary finds her life is in danger. An unexpected suitor comes to her rescue as she
    tries to make sense of who she is and her purpose in life.
    Mary is sent to Switzerland for answers and to hone her innate abilities with others
    like her. However, there she finds a shocking world she never knew existed. The book will be released at the end of September 2021, by Pegasus.

    All king and queen always considered them selves above god. So lavish and extravagant items made of solid gold and diamond. They always wore lavish clothes and fabric lavish food items to glory. In lay mans language it is said that nothing is above god but sadly every human needs to understand that human cannot be god either king or queen. we are passengers and are only on earth for a better purpose.

      @yay-cat Před 3 lety +19

      well he has a family and grand kids etc. They only live in a “small” portion of the house and the rest of it is open to the public. I went on a tour there and there were like 100s if not over a 1000 tourists that day. They obviously make a lot of profit with the tourism but I don’t even know if that money is enough to cover the maintenance of the estate because the renovations (and their cost) are staggering.
      So you could look at it as “an old white dude just living there” but really its more like it’s his job to be custodian of place to preserve it for future generations and by setting up the tourism side of it and organising for all the art that is displayed there (Everything from damien hirst modern art to the old masters) he’s set the place up as a business which means that when he dies and the next duke has to pay a massive inheritance tax, the place will be able to survive another generation. Other dukes and lord’s weren’t as savvy with money so most of those fantastic old manor houses have fallen into disrepair.

      @yay-cat Před 3 lety +2

      yeah if they shoot a deer then they prepare and eat the deer. it’s not like they’re shooting a lion just to have it’s head on block in the living room. You can only have a specific number of animals on a section of land (else you get overgrazing and erosion etc) and there aren’t really any natural predators like wolves around so farmers and dukes and other people who manage land have to cull surplus animals to maintain the ecological equilibrium.
      Also I think it’s much more honourable to know exactly where your meat comes from. like if you just buy prepacked frozen hamburgers from the supermarket isle you have completely removed yourself from the process and can pretend the horror of killing another animal doesn’t exist because ‘your food just came from the factory’ with its gleaming tiles and stainless steel counters. No if you want to eat meat you should see where it comes from and be able to look bambi in the eye if you pot his mom.
