I'm guessing that there's some warships, hymeks and westerns in there. Interesting locos those for me as an Aussie. Not a single Diesel Hydraulic mainline loco (plenty of shunters, though) in the whole country. I understand why they weren't kept on, but it's a pity that it was done so early, and that so few were saved. The ones in this clip look seriously in need of some TLC (not that they probably ever really got any!) but then even in the photos of them as new, they looked kinda old, IMHO. Interesting little clip. Glad you posted it.

So sad that it all went. Some of the greatest railways engineers trained where Gooch and Chrchward reigned supreme ; heartbreaking.

Didn't they just set fire to the old teak wooden carriages? The UK really is world leading in waste.
