My former neighbor and good friend was a sponsored BMX rider back in the 90s. Got back into it in his 40s when i lived beside him. Needless to say he opened my eyes to a whole new fascinating world.
I hope you picked up the hobby, it's honestly so fun, & I've met some of the most loyal friends through this hobby of misfits! 😆 I'm 49,& still ride a few times a week, with my 9yo son now, which is awesome, & still work on the industry, but now testing ebikes, instead of bmx grants. Lol
I haven't rode in 26 years, I'm buying my Haro Lineage 26" at 51. Age is what you make it. I broke my Redline landing gear forks right in front of Eddie Fiola, trying to copy his power slide 360. He thought it was cool how I bounced into a endo.😂
I seen Eddie all the way over in Northern Ireland at the Carrickfergus leisure centre I believe 1984.... A 12 year old me was in awe seeing a legend from magazines I owned and all the way from America... I believe Eddie was the only American to ever come to Northern Ireland... especially during our troubles. Respect and gratitude brother after 40 years ❤
I am Irish-American, but 1st generation, & were from Dublin,& it's SO HARD to see, & for others to understand what's going on over there, I'm ½ Irish(Dad) ½ Scottish (Mom), & my Dad would ALWAYS tell me to; "Never claim my Scottish side ", & then my Mom saying the opposite, Mom lost out, I feel WAY more Irish in my soul, than a Scot! 😆
Wow that was a hard fall. Only a true master could take a fall like that and end up with minimal injuries. Glad you’re ok. Ride on King Eddie, Respect!
Eddie is such a great guy , back in 1989 I had the pleasure of working at a booth at the cavalcade of customs car show in Cincinnati , Ohio , my boss knew Eddie well & he sat at our booth & just chilled with us , I seen him take a taser to his leg just to see how it felt , freaking hilarious , he was sitting to my left when he did this , I even had the chance to ride along side of him when work slowed down , very cool guy .
I can relate,We are old no we did get famous now is my time still cool in my own skin and killing it .. Paying all my bills and still confident in my own skin 🎉🎉🎉
It's all fun and games until someone get hurt. Some great tricks loved seeing this. Sorry that happened but let me know if you put some scabs on RadDesigns! ! Thanks for the video that Torker is swweeeeeet.
The Banana Man was my favourite bmx'er back in the day. I remember when the World Championships were held at Greenhams BMX track in Hounslow, UK and Eddie killed it on his yellow GT.
lol i rememer doing BMX in the late 70s and early 80s now i am 59 i got a stretch cruiser bike that i am tricking it out BUT now i am thinking maybe getting another BMX bike lol i am so glad i found your sight brought back so many memories THANK YOU
Man...that looks like a great time...hated to see you go down like that...scabs....great name for beef jerky...stay Rad man and I'll see you in Ohio in June
Wait a minute....Is this the same Eddie Fiola from back in the day? Rode for Torker and Haro? I've been riding since those days too and I've never stopped either. I ride mountain bikes now. DH and E-MTB. Glad to see you still love bikes!
Rad stuff but dude, be careful out there. I'm a few years younger than you but not as in good a shape and a crash like that could end me or keep me from doing my house chores for a few weeks.
as a modern day bmx rider, it sure is fascinating to see freestyle like this!

I was visiting Pomona Fair Grounds back in the early 90s and he autographed my shirt. I also met him at Pipeline in Montclair California. The BMX dude
Generous of you to take that spill and give us hope that even the Eddie Fiolas of the world tweak every now and then. 🤙
We don't recover as fast as we did 30 years ago. We know it won't slow you down.

Patrick Romano was the king of flatland
People think they are tough, but that's what those who end up as vegetables with brain damage also thought.
What's that floor ever done to you?
