- Here is a version of Love/Hate's "She's an Angel" in acoustic on MTV's Headbanger's Ball. This song got me hooked into this group back in 1990. I subsequently purchased both albums - "Blackout in the Red Room" and "Wasted in America". Total 80's hair metal fan here.
This is my favorite version of the song - absolutely incredible as recorded here.
Note that I included the interview prior to the acoustic song. This is from my personal VHS collection and is a 1st generation Hi-Fi VHS recording from 1990 (I was 17, in high school). Recorded analog off of Naperville, IL Jones Intercable on a Teac MV-550 recorder.
Publisher's Note: The sound and stereo separation is extremely exceptional here, especially when the acoustic version is played. This the is the effect of analog stereo cable TV to VHS Hi-Fi. If you play this on a 90's Dolby decoder, the sound around you will be incredible. If you wish to discuss further, please message me. MTV Headbanger's Ball had an incredible sound matrix, which all of my recordings exhibit. - Komedie
These guys had potential to become huge band. So much ideas and potential. Love them 100 years after
"Blackout In The Red Room" was as good as anything released by Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Ratt and other similar artists at the time. And way better than the Chilli Peppers...! Maybe they didn't have good management or promoters...?
I always said they got railroaded by the industry. The management like GnR had was something more LH got. The first impact was the difference.
Blackout in the red room was an awesome party song 🤘🤘
What a voice. What a band. Some of the stuff I used to listen to back then makes me blush (Pretty Boy Floyd anyone?) but Love/Hate stand the test of time. Saw them in the NEC supporting Skid Row and LA Guns but the gig in Cardiff Uni with the Wildhearts was one of the best nights of my life. Absolute nutters with so much talent and energy. Great days. By the way - "Mr Jimmy" by Jizzy Pearl is up there with the best stuff they ever did.
My prom song in high school was "I wanna be with you" by Pretty Boy Floyd lol. I think it was 1991. Good times
I met Jizzy when he came to the UK fronting Adlers Appetite, he was a real nice guy.
The first two Love Hate albums are superb.
Such a great time in my life. I really am feeling this
Right there now
I lived it too...they blew my away..absolutely obsessed with this band when they came out..seen then 5 times and met them too...coooool as fuk mahn!!❤❤❤❤❤
Skid Rose: fucking genius.
Skid playing a right handed guitar upside down. Doesn't even have to change the strings around!!!
I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Skid, what a man!
@@arnoldjones There's a bassist called Jason Christopher who played with Stone Sour and Sebastian Bach. He plays guitar too and does the same as Skid, ie plays lefthanded basses but when he plays guitar he plays righthanded guitars upsidedown.
Uncle Jizzo was visibly upset because of a remark that R.R. made before they went on-air. Uncle Jizzo is legendary. He's also a responsible, accountable Person. A professional.
Any idea what the remark? Love Jizzy, great singer. Terribly underrated by the mainstream rock crowd.
@@paulcarlin5181 In a CZcams video Jizzo said that "someone" said something to the effect of "I always thought you guys sucked, but I like Why Do You Think They Call it Dope".
That guy ( Jizzy Pearl) had a monsterous voice.
What a voice !!!
They always sound like a top own art creator band
I'd been lucky enough to record this live that night, but my VHS tape was lost before I could transfer it. Every few years I've searched for it on the internet with no luck. THANK YOU! I genuinely can't thank you enough. I was 15 and had recently received my first guitar and was blown away seeing a lefty playing a right-handed guitar upside down (left-handed guitars are crazy expensive). Along with Jizzy, I'm convinced that's what's behind their unique sound. Again, thank you.
This is the recording that got me into them and I prefer it over the album. Glad you liked it, I’m also glad that it’s in hi-fi stereo.
He has some pipes, sounds good. I hear he still sings too
I remember seeing these guys at the Birmingham NEC in the UK. They supported Skid Row, along with the LA guns. A great night and a great trio of bands. I always loved Skids obsession with Budweiser 👍
What a great line up that was.Must have been awesome.
Yeah I was at that gig too. La Guns were meh, love hate were superb and Skid Row incredible. Skid Row probably the best rock band I ever saw live and believe me I saw a lot. The bud reference was Skid coming onto the stage dragging around a hug cross made of budeweiser cans - right? If I remember it was prior to the release of Wasted in America so we got to hear a few tracks off an unreleased album. Great days!!!
@@Niblonian88 I’d forgot about the Budweiser crucifix 😀 I’ve just started a really good book called Nothing but a good time. It’s all about the glam metal period between 80-90. Very good so far. So many great memories of that time 🤟🏼🎸🎧
Brilliant!
Fukin Love this
And now Pearl's the singer in Quiet Riot. 🤟
Great Song 🦅💫🎸
This is brilliant
bloody amazing
wat a fuking voice. Im not being funny but why does Jizzy never get mentioned in the same breath as Cornell and Axl etc, hes actually better than both live
Ridiculous isn't it? the guy had a monsterous voice.
That was good! No drums or bass. Woah
More love than hate! Great band. Check out Tumbleweed or Cream , Yucca man..Happy Hour, Fuel to run.
You can feel the disturbing feelings you cannot control in some situations .
Art is emotion and to me they were messengers of emotions that no other band could summon as well as they did
Favorite live version ever from this great band
I think I like this acoustic version even better than the one thats on the album.
You and me both. The acoustic version is incredible.
Its a shame these guys didn't get any bigger. They had so much potential and I know they would've gone further if they didn't have so many issues with their record label at the time of their second LP.
I know, it’s a real shame as they were and are so talented. I love ‘em!
It proves they are real musicians
i forgot them sorry i´m 59. great.
blackout in the red room 2.0
Pretty cool Mark! If you could upload any more HB interviews from '90 or '91, i'd appriciate it!!!
Look at Jizzy Zoolander Pearl with the pursed lips..real blue steel type stuff..lol
Exo fuckin lent !
👍👍
I just sent him an email. What a great writer. It's so super cool. " I Got More Crickets Than Friends " is intense. Buy that if you can. I got mine. 😉😎😁✌👌👍🤘💖💣💥
MF'er has a Corey Feldman vibe😂
Jizzo.👍🍺
where was jon e ?
Hey Mark, I'm getting old
How much reverb on that guitar?.....almost as much as there is hair! Great song though.
Loved the quality of your recording. I am remastered headbangers ball episodes so I was wondering if you would trade/share your private collection with mine. Let me know. Vince
Email me as davismvatgeemaildawtcom. I have mine catalogued and over 75 episodes. Different quality, 10 to 12 hour mine and original like this.
Damn man. Upside down right handed guitar played lefty. Looks like tuning is changed up, but shit... he played strings that should be at the top, from the bottom. Wow. Who is this guy and what became of him?
No here it's the bass player and he's left handed
He doesn't tour anymore. Quit the scene long ago
Left handed player strung for right hand? Interesting
There are no angels even in the afterlife. It is manichee
Jizzy and Skid. Derivative right down to the nicknames.
Bob Townsend pffft
Oh stop it
Jizzy is far superior to Axl Rose.
No.
Outstanding voice, but the song is awful! 😂It's not catchy at all.
Ricki Rachman the biggest poser ever,
Need some fuel!!!!
