Thanks for the upload. The music has aged better than the decor.

+Reimer Bard Heh heh, looking at it again it could almost be a scene from 'Abigail's Arty Party'. Shame Swingle II's catalogue seems to have been cast into the outer darkness.

Always knew it was called the entertainer but never knew it had lyrics.

It doesn't, this is an arrangement. It was written for solo piano by Scott Joplin in 1902

I think these guys are astounding. If anyone has a link to them doing the one about Louis Armstrong then please link it. Awesome.

Wonderfully accurate intonation, and timbre, from the vocalists, but who on earth decided on putting an utterly superfluous bass guitar player in there? If I'm not mistaken, his instrument wasn't even connected!

They often performed with a bass instrument (as well as drums). Clearly, it helps with balance.

The words are quite good, and they're very nicely sung. But, strangely, this in one of the naffest things I've ever seen!

Undoubtedly virtuoso musicians but the arrangements always seemed soo stiff and middle-of-the-road
Have you ever heard their version of the BeeGees
      Oy!

Watching them on the box set of "The Two Ronnies" is a strange experience. They are fascinating and odd. They should be better than they are, if that makes sense. They're all good vocalists and they do everything right, but the performances are so lifeless. There is no energy or vivacity. It's all by rote. I get the feeling that the moment a performer shows even the slightest hint of personality or enjoyment, they get kicked out of the group.
There is also an odd stiffness to the performances. The frozen expressions and the lack of movement give a weird "prisoner in a cult" feeling to the proceedings. I get the impression that just off camera there is a man with a sniper rifle and any sign of movement will be interpreted as an attempt to escape and the offending singer will be shot.
And yet I can't look away.
