      I cycled past Ben while he was out on a run today. Seemed in good spirits and I can confirm he had the pink gloves on. Looking forward to his review of the trainers that he had on, I’m sure he’ll be doing a review on them in the future

      I’m good thanks mate. Had a slight groin/hamstring strain a few weeks ago but it’s settle down now and back out pounding the pavements again.

    Pulled my calf 4 days ago after a short interval session, literally as I came to a stop I felt it go, hopefully back to running next week but I feel your frustration and pain in this video! I wouldn’t blame yourself with regards to the warming up, sometimes muscles just go and there’s no real reason why!

    Good advice. Like the heel extra tab thing, pulled calf a few times when switching to zero drop years back... all good now.🤞

    Get well soon! Thank you for showing how you got this injury and how you are dealing with it. I am amazed at how seriously you deal with it. It makes me realise that perhaps I could take my own niggles and injuries a lot more serious. And that it is quite okay to go to a physio much much sooner. I'm so used to just deal with pains and niggles and just get on with it. Thank you for showing the real deal, Ben!

    Good news, I used to take injury very badly (and used to be injured a lot!) but I now try and do the right things to avoid injury and look at the injury recovery as a new challenge - just like you from what I can see 👍

    Ouch, must admit it makes me feel a bit guilty that you got injured because of creating content for us! I love your mindset and love that talking about the mental side of things was an essential part of the video - so many people would just focus on the physical, but I already knew you wouldn’t neglect the mental/emotional side of it.     Glad to hear it's not too serious - I feel your frustration at enforced days off. I fell while running and broke my elbow 9 days ago and I'm in the middle of training for my first North Downs Way50. So annoyed with myself. But trying to stay positive and have bought a turbo trainer and am cycling indoors to try and maintain fitness while arm heals. Hope you will be back out there again soon. You are an inspiration to us all.

    I love your assessment on how you got the injury. Sometimes that is the key thing that people don't take into account when they get an injury. I hope you can get over it in a week. For me, it kept me down for a good 3 - 4 weeks I think. Calf strains hurt like crazy. Self massage really helped me. I am not sure I'd buy into the calf raises though. I have found they aggravate my Achilles.
    I also used your warm-up routine for my 5K this weekend. Kept repeating to myself "Getting it done". Wound up smashing 1 minute 40 seconds off last year's time! My training is really coming together in some part because of your and Sara's videos. You guys are a great inspiration.

    After watching your ‘picked up an injury’ video on Friday, I decided to swap my Saturday morning run in -2 temperatures for a treadmill run instead to try and avoid possible injuries due to the cold.     Happy to hear its nothing serious but its a shame it's happened during your build block, for the Wrexham marathon! Nothing worse than trying to run on an injury, so glad to hear your letting it heal up!

    Good luck! I always manage to pull my right calve. Foam rolling and the stick helps to keep from getting tight

    Hey Ben, just wanted to let you know how valuable this update has been for me. I used to be able to train by feel through injuries, but as of late this doesn't seem to be working that all well anymore. Just injured a calf muscle again. The 3-4 Days RICE routine followed by about a week of none running conditioning is working much better for me. Although taking rest is incredibly hard though. :-) Thanks for sharing.

    I watched the vid on Saturday where you strained your calf, and then the day after that at the end of an 8 mile run I felt a twinge in my calf!!! I must’ve tempted fate by watching you Ben.

    You’ll get there Ben, worse happened to me (hamstring) a week before Liverpool R&R 2018 (the one you videoed) - couldn’t run all week, had a few swimming sessions - ran a PB. If you can get to a pool I found similar cardio training benefit from both slow and fast lengths to slow and interval running! And little calf strain? Good luck.

    Hope it's healing up nicely now Ben - I've found rolling a lacrosse ball across the calf muscle helpful whilst healing a calf-strain last year. It really helps to get into those trigger points.
