5 Unusual Factions In Star Rail | Honkai Star Rail Lore

- In honkai star rail the highest form of existence are the aeons, literal gods that each represent a concept that exists within the universe. Each aeon typically has factions or groups that follow them as most gravitate towards the concepts these gods represent. Among them however are groups that are rather unusual, groups that say the follow the aeons but have some really twister logic and some groups are just in unfortunate circumstances
So in this video ill be covering 5 of the most unusual factions in honkai star rail lore.
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

My theory on why doesn't Aeon of remembrance reprimend cremators for destroying memories:
It's because cremators have memories of the memories they destroy, so they aren't really ever gone. And to add to that, their memory of destroying memory is an important memory in itself full of reasonings, emotions and choices. If i understand Fuli correctly that is.

Interesting theory. I personally just don't think Fuli pays that close of attention, and is more obsessed with MASSIVE events and far reaching historical moments. Only the most crazy of moments worth remembering, drawing his gaze across time and space.
So, the Cremators doing what they do doesn't even matter to Fuli. They are insignificant in his eyes. The memories they destroy, not worth his notice. And them believing that what theyre doing benefits Fuli somehow, probably doesn't even bleep up on his radar.

A tissue laced with ACID! But in all honesty, not all the masked fools are bad, some just want to be merry and have fun. Then you have sparkle who has a rather twisted idea of it, at least in the story so far
I love the doctors of chaos, they’re essentially therapists for IX (who is super cute) and they think that the fact nothing has meaning it essentially makes u free. And that’s cute
Other than it being funny, Aha blessed the Mourning Actors due to them also being representative of the duality the Elation represents, as emotional lows go hand in hand to make the highs even stronger.
It's actually quite interesting to me that the Aeons can encompass and acknowledge ideals that can oppose their own in this way, as that wouldn't technically go against their primum mobile. At least that's how I understand it to be lol.

The doctor of chaos are kinda cool like wanting to change IX's mind is a cool concept.
Ironically, I think the IPC is the largest faction that should be included on this list. We have seen and heard what the IPC did in regards to the Intellitron and other machine-based lifeform's after the Rupert wars where they were basically going to start a machine lifeform holocaust with them - which doesn't exactly sound anything like what The Preservation is about. Furthermore, in the latest patch there's a quest with an old man we later find out is actually a missing Genius Society Member responsible for creating a Imaginary Bomb - possibly the most powerful "weapon" in the Star Rail verse. The IPC are the ones that tasked him with doing this, saying it was so they could fight Nanook's Antimatter legion, but in using the bomb they knowingly wiped out well over 20 planets with intelligent life on them - literally HSR's Oppenheimer.
There's plenty of other examples and I'm certain we'll be seeing even more in the future, the IPC very loosely follow the ideals of Preservation if at all.
He kinda got duped into to doing it like they used threats but they said it was the minor minions. I think it’s a destruction minions that was posing as IPC

IPC has a weird but actually effective way for helping Qilpoth: Colonizing all planets under IPC names making Qilpoth's job of preserving all planets easier.

not necessarily though, near the start of the game you can actually hear himeko say the name out loud, and she does pronounce it "eye eks" rather than calling it "Nine"

I want to talk about the concept of "Finality", one of the most important recurring themes in Hoyoverse as well as a meta-narrative approach of the character of Acheron and Raiden Mei.
Finality, The End or simply Destiny, sounds ominous but in actual fact as Raiden Mei herself said: "Origin is an End and Finality is a Beginning", it simply means that when one thing ends, another one starts, Finality and Origin are both sides of the same coin.
Acheron is HSR's version of Raiden Mei, who is the Herrscher of Origin, interestingly they made a twist and she's now the other side of the coin, Finality. As Acheron said: "May death be the end of your boundless dream... guiding you back... to the waking world." Acheron is invoking Finality/Origin with death being the return to waking life.
I personally think we are in an Inception like event and Acheron is here to end it, even the "reality" layer of Penacony is another dream. Nobody has died IRL and is just dead in one of the countless layers of dreams. Firefly and Robin are playable characters so it kind of spoils their "death".
All Raidens are the equal and opposite counterpart to a Kaslana, which in HSR is the Trailblazer, made apparent with their Kaslana Bat, a "family heirloom" that has been around for over a decade of Hoyoverse games.
There's some kind of overarching meta themes that they are clearly trying to tell us about Finality/Origin and Raiden/Kaslana with not just the dialogue asking if we remember her, but also in the 2.0 dev stream with the writer straight up telling us that we might remember Acheron from another game; Clearly hinting at Acheron being a version of Raiden Mei, which for us long time Honkai players will undoubtedly make the connection.
Acheron's dialogue is written in a way that invokes the memories of Honkai 3rd players and asks us to make speculations on what she is trying to do. In fact she quotes Yae Sakura who imparted her some ways of the sword, more meta-narrative elements.
Unlike Genshin which is based on Honkai but is unconnected to the Honkai universe, existing as a separate bubble universe, HSR is a direct sequel to Honkai 3rd, and it seems they are really starting to draw the connections now beyond just Welt and maybe Loucha.
So basically for HSR only players, Archeron is kinda mysterious, but for HI3rd players, there are even more layers of mystery because of the additional context that is being used to manipulate our impression of her. And Finality is the end of the current period as well as the start of the next, all things must end therefore Finality is the the one true Destiny.
I think that acheron is actually mei cause hersherr (not the finallity) is emanator of the hercherr of finality since we learn that HoF gave birth to all the other she is pretty near the concept of eaon
So what if acheron was hi3 mei and kiana aeons of finality
additional note: terminus travels back in time, they go backwards instead of forward; thus terminus rambles backwards as well.
Which makes figuring out what hes saying even more nonsensical 😂
I have theories that the stelaron hunter and Acheron are from 2 different finality paths, that's how Kafka's group able to predict future through Terminus's murmur, and why the MC can host stelaron inside them because they are something like phantylia but the finality version, and because finality and destruction overlap, in the end they will ended up absorbing each other.
This might also explain as to why Acheron felt familiar with trailblazer, the friend she mentions is Terminus (probably this world version of Kiana) and because they have an aspect of terminus, she somehow can feel it.
one theories i found is that Acheron, being the Emanator of Finality, also moves back in time ( like terminus ), and ONLY have the memories of the future thus explain why Acheron felt they have met us "before" because they indeed have met in the future, and the reason he always forgot important thing from the "past" is because she never have experience it or know it, likewise in the first scene Acheron seems like know everything abt the dreamscape, but when we met him again, she's clueless as on why the room is even upside down, why?, because she is in the "past", as like she never know it in the first place, the future are her past and the past are her future, each day, she forgot everything. if u dont understand then same, i also doesnt understand what im saying😅😅, but hope you get my point
My favourite Aeon is HooH the Equilibrium cause I think the poor guy needs a break from having to balance every single intergalactic crisis
Right now, HooH seems to be on the side of order/good but ive always wondered what would happen if concepts like destruction and nihility were to disappear. Would it mean HooH would take over those roles as well just to maintain equilibrium and balance?

@@Maevix3142HooH does not really go into that morals, if HooH is the Aeon of balance, chances are that this Aeon will do and keep the balance even if it means making a big effect.
The emanator of HooH the Equilibrium, HooHverse faction trying to balance things every single patch, with the stronger playable character release, stronger boss enemy, older char that fall off weak also given relics to catch the stronger boss.

It's kind of funny how opposite yet similar Mourning Actors and Masked Fools are. In the end, these are the 2 masks of extreme emotion in theatre and no matter what, all they can do is oppose eachother while Aha is laughing at them like puppets on strings. Like in the description, they are just 2 sides of the same coin, and Aha is the one who decide which face it will land on to entertain him again and again.
i think you can interpret nihility in two ways:

It's quite hilarious that all the path always have one faction that contradict or oppose the ideal of Eon itself
This can explain why all Nihility unit in the game seem to have a similar goal to find some 'meaning' for their own benefit even IX itself didn't care or deem everything meaningless
For playable Nihility characters they have to be like that or they become self annihilators and cease to exist.

I kinda wonder how would Terminus and Idrilla look like? Terminus is describe as shapeless, meaning it has no form whatsoever, Hi3rd peeps believed that Terminus has some relations with Kiana or the Cocoon of Finality, but I somehow disagree their powers are kinda different but similar since it's related to time, hopefully it would have some cool form once it's get introduced in SU lore. Idrilla also has no specific form, it usually depends on the person on how they view beauty, my theory is that Idrilla would somehow look like a mirror entity, which would kinda explains one of it's factions, the Mirror Holders.
With terminus, I think the further back he goes the less of his form exists so if we were to see him now id imagine its just an abstract cloud of random stuff but the closer you get to the end, the more coherent his shape becomes. Personally I always thought terminus had something to do with time so maybe his form is something shapeless or the typical covered in clock faces look
As for idrilla ive no clue, but a really neat twist would be if it turned out to be the most horrendous thing in the universe that way anything else that faces her becomes beautiful in comparison. I know it doesnt really work but I like weird twists like that 😂
I mean GGZ is part of hoyoverse canon and the honkai specifically already debunked all of the terminus is the cocoon theories since the cocoon was made by an alien species that combined into one that exists outside of the Imaginary tree who was appointed to govern the imaginary tree by thanatos the god of death.
In the case of the mourning actors or doctors of chaos, they still belong to the path they hate, but the Xianzhou hates Yaoshi so much that it gives birth to an Aeon and forms its own path
Honestly this makes me even more curious about Nanook side. We know that in general all aeons have both a “good” and “bad” side in their paths. Will the story go for the side of “destruction comes before creation” with him or will it have another idea?
I'm inclined to think not the former, simply because of how hard the Destruction is selling the idea that everything will be remade, absolutely perfectly, as soon as there's nobody left to oppose it. Add to that at least one of the Lord Ravagers not believing this.

I wouldn't call a good and bad side, more like 2 opposition sides of the same path. By this logic, an opposing faction in Destruction should follow the logic of both destruction and creation. If Nanook held the ideal of destruction to all come cleanness and purity to new, the opposite in the destruction should be ever creating universe blooming with things that has yet to be imagined. Only when all has existed can destruction be brought into this world, as oppose to Nanook when all has been destroyed can everything start anew.
I imagine the beauty's "bad side" is like the ugly knights or the disgusting peasents😂

This video lead me to believe that in the path of Destruction, there is also a faction following both the idea of Destruction and Creation. If Nanook believe that only annihilation to all can bring purity and cleanness to the new, the opposing faction would believe in the idea of ever blooming universe fill with things has yet to be imagined, and only when that universe had reach it Abundance and the limit of Creation, can Destruction come and create anew.
That might fit quite well with the path of equilibrium who the lore mentions is sort of on the side of good so maybe it works to balance out the destruction that nanook does. Whats scary is thinking about what would happen if destruction didnt exist would equilibrium take care of that as well?
star rail is so funny to the honkai lore because you think of everything that happened in honkai 3rd on 1 small planet all of it could just cease happening at any point from 1 aeon farting in its direction or the ipc testing weapons blowing up multiple galaxies lmao
I've never really grasped how honkai 3rd universe functions with star rails. With genshin i;ve seen theories that teyvat is some experiment and also theories that theyre each a universe on the branch of the imaginary tree but ive not seen much related to star rail
Irrelevant but Can someone explain why aventurine eyes, and Ruan mei’s hanging cords on her dress share the same color scheme as march? Feel like no one’s talked about this but I really don’t think they’d just choose a color scheme like blue and pink to throw on some character. And now even black swan has the oneric shard symbol on her stomach. I definitely feel this is all going to come together eventually
