  • Baby strollers, once just merely a means for transporting a baby, have become thousand-dollar accessories. Correspondent Serna Altschul looks at the history of strollers, prams and pushchairs, and at the designs and aesthetics of today's super-smooth strollers.

My eldest is almost 40. I shopped and shopped, bought a more expensive Aprica folding stroller. Used heavily for my 3 daughters. Used for visiting small ones who didn't have a stoller or only a broken one. It is still in amazing condition, hoping for grandchildren to use when at Grammy's house! 😊

If Tony Stark designed strollers like his expandable Iron Man suits....

Having worked in a baby store for over two years, I’ve observed that the biggest selling point is appealing to the emotions of soon-to-be parents. This often convinces them that the more expensive option is better, even though these items are often overpriced. I've seen parents spend more than 30% of their budget on a stroller, which is typically used for only six months. Based on my experience, I believe you can buy almost everything second-hand and in almost new condition, often still under warranty. The only item I recommend buying new is a car seat due to its critical role in safety, rather than aesthetics.

We have made leaps and bounds with the new strollers. Look at some of the 1st ones. Surprised not many fell out of them.
Although some look like mini apartments on wheels 😅😊

And parents not using them, because they're driving everywhere .....

As a single senior man with no children, I have to say having & using this Cybex Libelle (0:52 ) would be the ONLY reason I'd consider being a father. Period.

This is stupid money you spend on your first child and quickly learn, it was indeed stupid money… ya don’t repeat on babies 2,3,4…..

Being a parent is way too expensive for most people. And most people don't think about that before they procreate.
    I'm so glad I'm not a parent.
If I had kids, I wouldn't have the $30,000 cash in the bank that I need to spend on a new roof this year.

With this prices,it’s no wonder why people think a lot before having babies,it’s all business ,who can pay for these things with a low income ? These are not needs for the child these are show off !

Can Serena talk to us like she talks to her friends or her husband? I find the tone of voice (the unnecessary descent of tone) to be condescending and annoying.

2:24...you're a horrible mother. Fashion should never be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of anything to do with your child's safety.

Sigh. That doesn’t make her a horrible mom. 1st, she’s not a mom yet. 2nd, there are many variables that determine the quality of a mom. 3rd, you don’t (presumably) know her. Finally, we do know more about you, that you would entirely judge a person based one statement, than we know about her.
