Thanks for the tips! I thought I was doing something wrong having to mix 1:1 when the bottle said "add 5-10% of paint volume" trying to repaint my first diecast! Glad to see you recommend it.
Thanks for the tips! I am getting back into modeling after a few decades and decided to try airbrushing. The paint thinning is whats been hanging me up.
Iâm so happy I found your channel about six months ago. I always lean something. Thank you!
Man, thanks for this short and simple video. I'm self educated but this really helps.
That was a wonderful tutorial for the basics. Thank you so much!
It really explained a lot that I was experiencing...
Thank you ! You answered so many questions I had and problems!
Thanks loads for this. I am a returning modeller so whether I will do much in terms of proper airbrush work remains to be seen. I had kind of worked out that a lot of the manufacturers ratios were arbitrary and had started mixing batches to suit, but I did not get the pressure relationship. Very much a beginner...I feel a ref card coming onđ. Thanks again.
This video is extremely helpful! Thank you!
Goodness gracious me. Extremely helpful video!!!
Great info!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!đđđ
Really helpful tips, thank you.

Thank you that was very helpful
Youâre the man, man. Thanks for your time.
Comon man
Tyvm your videos are awesome
Thank you!
Why do you advise against thinning paint with water?
Nice airbrush work!
Thank you.
I recently bought a cordless I-BEAUTEE airbrush to paint my model cars. I use acrylic Tamiya paints, but Iâm having to add quite a lot of thinner to get it to work properly. I want to one day get a compressor as I think thatâs gonna solve a lot of problems.
Thanks! I'm just learning, and I've learned quite a bit.
Thank You SO much for the 'super thanks' and I am happy that you have learned a lot from the channel. đ
thank you
đđŸđđŸ always salute to my guy

Thank you so much for your comment and glad you found it helpful đđ»
Are you mixing in the airbrush cup, or a separate container, then putting it in the cup? How would you change things to spray some alcohol base stains? Thanks.
Just started following your channelđđđ
Thank you and welcome to the channel take a look at this playlist which you may find helpful đđ» czcams.com/play/PLkd3s0ymmV0OKlXI7wEma4Z4ntvXMs9jv.html
Great video! Very informative. But can somebody help me with a question? I wanna paint a bike helmet, what kind of paint should I use? Iâve been looking around and havenât found a concrete answer yet.
I am just getting into airbrushing. I mainly use my airbrush to paint tabletop miniatures. Would these paints work on plastic and resin?
I also understand that Createx Color paints are a little different, I suppose, from Trident, do you have a video where you explain how to mix them?
@ airbrush asylum I have a question when you say say i mix it 1 to 1 and 30% paint and 70% reducer for detailed airbrushing. How do I measure that? Do I I use a eye dropper. But how many drops is 30% and 70% and 1 to 1 of paint and thinner. My eye droppers has milliliters on them.
Can you use a substitute for reducer if itâs not on hand?
Is mixing solvent acrylic paint different
I see that you use as a notebook to carry out the tests with your airbrushes, where do you get it? Thanks
Hey man. I have a question please, how do watercolours go in the airbrush? Thinned down with water to consistency of milk. And how do alcohol inks go in airbrush, with little or no thinners?
Hi , i am new to this Airbrushing .... i tried out on some paper with a Black primeur ... when i push down the trigger , even before i push it back , there is already a fine layer of paint coming out . Can you tell me if the airbrush is maybe faulty or what makes this happen . Thank you very much .
Is it possible to airbrush water based polyurethane varnish? (I make lots of wooden items & CNC carvings & want quick, even varnish coats that dry quick & can be reapplied sooner, rather than brush) Any hints gratefully received.
Ty
You are a boss!
thank you
Can u use any reducer for most paints.??
Thanks so much. I keep clogging up my airbrush and i was thinking itâs just a bad quality product bc of constant tip dry and spidering⊠i was having to deep clean it every single time I put a coat of paint on something and I was thinking âbut Iâm thinning my paints!! Why is it clogged?âturns out thereâs such a thing as TOO thin of paint and i reaally donât need to be using vallejo model air which comes pre thinned, with 50% ratio of thinner added to it LMAO. I was so paranoid about not thickening my paint that I overthickened it!!
i am having an issue what to do if to thin my paint it does not to be to seen to be spraying corectly? the thinner the paint the lower the pressure? maybe like 10 or 15 should i try? i make my own from acrlyic most are ok but some i made to thin?
Hello thank you for the great video! I was curious to know if you had any videos on spraying pearlescents or shapeshifting colors through an airbrush. I have been attempting to use a 0.5 mm with some airbrushed shapeshifting colors however my airbrush continues to get clogged within 2 or 3 minutes of using it. I've even tried a thinner and still the airbrush is uneffective. I really don't want to use a bottom feed with anything bigger than a 5 but this might be the only solution
Do you filter the paint?
In the States I found and try Golden's high flow acrylics. It doesn't need thinning. And it has high pigmentation. The bottle say it's for many uses. It even works on plastic models.
Thatâs awesome , I have never tried golden and yes some paints donât need thinning just check the recommendations and go from there , that said Createx illustration colors for example is recommend to be used âas isâ but I much prefer it thinned đđ»
Be careful using Golden products, I've had them peel right off when removing masks from them, even low tack varieties.
THIS I LIKE, AIRBRUSHING MY MODELS.
You have very informative videos . . . so much so that I am interested in taking your on-line course. Realistically, how much time would have to be devoted to the training? I ask because I travel a fair amount for my job and am curious if the course is able to be stopped and restarted and still be effective (understanding that innate talent - or lack there of! - cannot be factored into your answer).
Hi there and thank you for your comment and kind words and your interest in my online course. The course is designed so that you can learn at your own pace, you get lifetime access once purchased, it is based on our face to face introductory airbrushing course however it contains loads more info and it also has reference images plus cutting maps so you can get the most out of each exercise. The course is split into 3 chapters and you can always go back through any exercise or work on an artwork at your leisure and practice until you have mastered the techniques shown.
I highly recommend making some of the basic exercises as part of your regular warm up routine as these are the fundamental things that you should practice to master your brush .đđ»
@@AirbrushAsylum Thank you for getting back to me. I am going to seriously look at the on-line course very soon!
Thanks for the great tips!
No probs glad you found them helpful đđ»
Greetings) I understood about the pressure for different types of detailing of the picture, thanks. A question about the composition of paints - are they suitable for painting on metal, and how does 2K car varnish work on them? Is it possible to work with these paints on a car and cover them with a regular 2K varnish?
They are Compatible with Urethane, 2-Pac and Acrylic clears.
Are you're recommend thinning ratios good for any reducer and any brand of paint?
No
is Trident a english company?
Well I made it to the first part that is the problem I am having ... I need to go in clean the brush again and try thinner and not water.
How long will you store and reduced paints? I think createx says not to for over 24 hours, but that always makes me feel like i have to be very precise with the amount of paint i mix so as to not be wasteful. Thanks for the great videos!
I have stored pre-mixed paints (only the ones where reducer or thinner are added) for as long as 2-3 years. If using any paints which need additives as well as reducer or thinner then those I typically only mix what I need . đ
@AirbrushAsylum wow that changes things, thank you!
have you ever tried unicorn spit
Can you place the needle too tight so it blocks the paint flow ? Or is it a thinning problem ? Some Times no paint Come out Even at full throtle and Then when i release a big blob comes out? Thanks
Let The Air Run Through It First, Then Pull Back. Always Have The Air Flowing Through It Before You Pull Back
Also make sure to go back to only air slowly, obviously not too slow, and don't let go and let it snap shut.
What is better and what is the difference between evolution cr plus 2 in 1 and the Evolution AL Plus?đ
I have an Infinity plus 2 in 1 and it means it comes with 2 separate needle nozzle combinations.(.15, .4) It's probably the same idea, but maybe different sizes. Hope this helps bro.
Thanks for your message, I unfortunately donât own or have experience with H&S brushes, I have only used one once and it performed nicely but canât really comment further đ
Some times small droplets are comes out when I was sprayed....please Tell me why this happen????
I think it might be caused by moisture from your compressor. Moisture trap suggested.
Do you mix your paint in a seperate squeezy pot, what do you do with left over paint, cheers.
I use Trident empty mixing bottles which come in a set of 10 and I store all of my mixed paint in them, they are the same size as the 50ml trident colours and also come with the marble to ensure that you can give your paints a really good shake đ
@@AirbrushAsylum OK cool, thanks for getting back to me.
Are these Trident Paints enamel? Acrylic? What?
First thanks for the Tipps
No probs happy it helped đđ»
â@@AirbrushAsylum so "reducer" and "thinner" are the same thing?
đđđ
What kind of paint is this? Automotive?
You stated you do NOT recommend thinning with water, but did not say why not. So, why do you recommend not using water?
It evaporates slowly... windex works great wit createx
Is there a difference between reducer and thinner?
No same thing, Paint companies just name them as either reducer or thinner.
@@AirbrushAsylum thanks for the info. Have a blessed day.
why not water to thin?
Water can be used but I wouldn't recommend it, as it breaks down the viscosity of the paint and lots of reducers / thinners for example Trident Reducer has slipping agents within their reducer to help minimise tip dry and keep your paint performing at it's best.
Createx isnât airbrush ready it needs thinned only way I can get it to run through gun is thin it by 50%
generic windex works ok for thinning if yo are poor, it also works for cleaning stuff too.
