Kennebec Potato Harvest Day! 6-23-24

Today with the help of my son Peyton we Harvested our Kennebec Potatoes. I planted these back in early April and just 3 short months, later they were ready to harvest. Whenever you see them flower usually about a month later they will be ready. Another way to know that they are ready is when they start to die back and fall over.
I love harvesting potatoes because it's always like a treasure hunt. I was surprised by how much of a harvest I dug up. Nearly filled up a tomato box. Most of these will get eaten but I will try to save a few to have seed potatoes for next year.
