Re the speeding fines and extra post.
I live in Valencia and just recently I was notified by my bank that there was an embargo on my account (about €140). They didn't know what it was for. It took me three weeks of phoning various departments to discover that it was a speeding fine from a year ago. I have never received anything in the post to inform me of this so, here at least, no extra post and no notification. Because I didn't know about it the original €100 fine was increased by fees for late payment and interest.
Had that happen to me over ten years ago for a tragic offense 300€ still don’t know to this date . Embargo your account here isn’t against ya uman rights 😡

Speed limits in Spain are crazy. I drove through a eerily empty village last August, the population obviously skulking indoors away from the 36 degree heat, at just 20kmh!
So stupid. Its just a bloody racket.

My local Correo not even put the mail in the mailboxes, just drop it all on the floor and each person can then search through the whole lot for his/hers letter! Wonder how many letters I've lost because of this🤔
Before we moved here my husband had been a uk postie for 30 years and said if he acted like our Spanish postman he would be up in front of a judge. We bought our first place near Torrevieja and there was a communal postbox system . We never hd a key and never needed one as the side door lock was broken by kids, post a foot deep on the floor. The postman would hurl the letters in, not to mention the flyers. . In the end it was taken down and post went in to our boxes on the gates.. sort of! Here it is much better and we have the few bits of post we get delivered to our wall slot.
What about converting some of these empty shops into garages? Parking is a nightmare in Spain.

Spain most certainly is a tip culture but I've found that more and more Brits seem to resent doing it. Not just in Spain but at home too.

Couldnt Spain just veto Catalonia joining the EU as it needs the agreement of all members.
Who seeks, finds. I believe if you looked into most institutions, big companies and government in Spain, you will most definitely find corruption and non- compliance. Please don't think, I think that other Europeans are better, it's just that I have a strong feeling that Spain is let's say less better. Nepotism is in abundance in Spain.

Brits complaining about not getting eu union benefits from the eu union they don’t want to be part of? Funny. Brits suggesting tourism is not wanted by a country that depends of tourism for a good part of their budget? Funny. I have to say, “some folks don’t make no kind of sense” just a little slang to fit the occasion.
I'm not complaining! UK is now a third country now it has left the EU and I understood what this meant when I voted to leave the EU.

I think they will leave . The eu is going down the breakup route , this is why Romania etc were allowed to join Schengen even tho the country is skint . Border controls this year coming back throughout the EU with the voting this year this will happen . It has to as Italy and France is at breaking point and with 50k migrants a week arriving from Africa into Spain every week you can see why the Spanish are fed up with them being housed in hotels when they cannot even find anywhere to rent . Sad times coming this year .
